Perfect Recreational Kayak!
I have a pair of these kayaks and they exceeded my expectations and I'm thrilled with them. I'm sure this is not any sort of performance kayak but those cost $1000 or more so you shouldn't expect that for this kind of money. We were looking for a basic kayak to have fun with the kids while camping. We wanted it to be easy to transport so I was specifically looking for an 8 foot kayak. Most in that size don't carry large adults. I found this one at Lifetime.com that claimed it could carry 250 lbs and reviewers backed that up. I'm 5'8" and my husband is 5'11" and we're probably both around the 200 lb mark. Each of us was able to use a kayak without any issue. They rode nice and high in the water and we were able to navigate some pretty shallow water (8-10 inches in some spots). Very wide and stable, not risk of tipping over and easy to paddle. I did try getting my daughter on with me and the both of us together probably weigh 340 lbs. That submerged the kayak and we got soaked - not successful there so they kayak will carry either two kids or one adult, just keep it under the 250 lb weight limit. We loved that it included very nice paddles as well as carrying straps. The kids had a great time and could easily fit two kids on each kayak, even though they are one person kayaks. They even had fun trying to use them as paddle boards and they were stable enough for the kids to stand up and paddle (although super slow). Because they were so short, they were easy to transport. We could fit them inside our travel trailer where two kayaks could fit down the center aisle. Because of their size and weight, we were able to get them down a steep trail to the water. Bonus, the scupper holes were a great place to snake a long cable bike lock through and secure our kayaks to a tree on the lake shore overnight and when at our camper to the bumper so we could keep them secure. Perfect camping accessory for people who like to go to lakes or the beach.
