What do we think about this hoop? The 73729 backboard and rim combo is a great product, especially for the price. We also carry larger boards, but this one is the best "bang for your buck". Most driveways have a 44"-48" board. We recommend at least a 48" board if you want a decent bank shot. The board is light weight and is designed to be used as a replacement backboard for most lifetime systems or a new board to be mounted to a roof, wall, or existing 3.5" round diameter pole. This board and rimgets our recommendation. A close second is the 79910 or the 71526 board, both larger boards. What else do you need besides this backboard and rim combo? The mounting brackets are sold seperately. If you are mounting it to a roof you need the 9594 lifetime brackets. If you are mounting this to a 3.5" round pole then you need the 1044 adjustable lifetime brackets or you can use the 9594 brackets. If you are using the non-adjustable brackets make sure your pole is 10.5 from the ground to the top in order for your rim to reach 10. If you are considering the adjustable brackets your pole needs to be 8.5 (most poles are about 8.5 out of the ground). Here are the Lifetime Mounting Brackets . If you already have an existing lifetime basketball system and you are buying this as a replacement board then it will use your existing brackets as long as your pole is round (not square). Youll never have to worry about your board breaking again with this model. If you have a huffy system this backboard and rim will not mount to your pole unless you purchase the lifetime brackets.
