Lifetime makes only a few different rims. Determining the correct model for your basketball system is simple following these steps. 1, is your rim black or orange? If if it black, there is only 1 retailed rim available online, model 5821. To tell if this is the correct black rim for you, look at your current rim from the side. Do you see two springs exposed? If you do, then you have the 5821. If you do not, then you have the single static rim, which is only available directly through Lifetime Products. 2, looking from the side of your rim, do you see two springs exposed? If you do, then you have the Slam It rim. We already mentioned the model 5821; the orange version of this same rim is 5820. If you see a box, then you have the model 5000, the Slam-It Pro. Please note that while the bolt configurations for all of these rims match up, they do not use the same hardware to attach to the backboard. Therefore, if you have a Slam It rim and want to upgrade to the Slam It Pro, the required hardware to attach to your backboard is not included. You will have to get that locally. |
