Lifetime Table Packaging Structure

Lifetime folding tables have several different packaging structures that you ought to consider when purchasing these products. Many times, these purchases are for 2 or more tables; other times they are 50 or more. We will discuss different things to consider when purchasing these tables in volume. Also, we will take a look at purchasing <a href="http://www.competitiveedgeproducts.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=11
>Lifetime tables in quantities of 1. Lastly, we will take a look at getting the best prices for tables in any quantity. Let’s take a look.

What to look for when purchasing small volumes of Lifetime Folding Tables

If you have ever looked to purchase certain models of Lifetime tables in quantities of 1 to 3, you were probably greeted with either unusually high per product pricing, or extremely high shipping rates, depending on the site you visited. To help you understand what a merchant is looking at, let’s start with the longest table Lifetime Products makes, the 8-foot rectangular model. The 8-foot table is the perfect example of the troubles with ordering in small quantities because this size of solid-top rectangular table will have to ship with an ltl freight carrier. Ltl freight carrier, as opposed to small parcel carriers (think FedEx and UPS), have minimum shipment charges and rarely has any pricing difference based on the weight the package. They assume that the most limiting factor of any shipments their semis will carry will not be based on weight, but dimensional space. So, a 8-foot table might cost a merchant under $100 from the manufacturer, but the cost of shipping that one table will typically be no less that $130. So, most websites will sell that 22980 model table from Lifetime for anywhere from $150 to $250 to remain profitable. This pricing can be anywhere from 2 to 3 times the cost per table when ordering in volumes of 4 or more tables. Fortunately, there is some help.

Lifetime Products makes most of their tables in solid tops and fold-in-half models. What some people miss here is that they assume that there will be severe compromises in table stability when the table top folds in half, but the difference is likely negligible for most people. For instance, Lifetime makes the 22980, an 8-foot table with a solid top, and the 80175, an 8-foot table with a fold-in-half top. The weight capacity of the 22980 is a very sturdy 2,000 lbs. With the 80175, the published weight capacity is the exact same, 2,000 lbs. Now, to the crucial benefit for the fold-in-half table. This table ships folded in half in the box, and thus can ship via a small parcel carrier. Immediately, the price of shipping 1 table is dropped anywhere from 50 to 75 percent. So, with the fold-in-half table ordered in small quantities, you save a considerable amount of money with no difference in table strength. For Lifetime tables, they will have fold in half models for their 4-foot, 5-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot rectangular tables and for their 46-inch and 60-inch round tables. If fold in half is fine for your needs, look there before ordering a single solid top table that could cost you much more money.

What to look for when purchasing high volumes of Lifetime Folding Tables

Lifetime tables have several packaging options. For nearly all models of tables, they will offer single packs, 4 packs, and a pallet package. Thus, when ordering higher volumes of Lifetime tables, you should consider ordering the largest package(s) to get you to your desired quantity. For example, let’s say you needed 16 60-inch, solid top round folding tables. The way to get the cheapest price per table would be to order models 2970 – a 12 pack – and 42970 – a 4 pack- as opposed to ordering 16 qty. 22970 singles, which could cost you as much as $2900, or 4 qty. 42970 4 packs, which could cost you as much as $2500. Ordering the larger packages for this quantity of 60-inch round tables can save you anywhere from $400 to $1100. This is true of all other table packages from Lifetime Products. Here is why.

Lifetime encourages high-volume purchases in two ways. 1, the per table price in the 4 packs and pallet packs is cheaper than the single table price; and 2, the price per table to ship larger volumes is much cheaper than 1 table. As mentioned earlier, if the table you are ordering is a single 8 foot table, the shipping cost to the merchant, at a minimum, is typically $130. However, if you ship two 8-foot tables to the same address, the shipping cost to the merchant likely does not go any higher; if it does go higher, it is by very little. So, two tables will likely ship for $150 or cheaper. 3 tables will likely ship for $175 or cheaper. Are you seeing the savings add up in per table shipping cost. So, when you get to a 4 pack, or a pallet pack, the cost to the merchant is much lower; to stay competitive, most merchants will then pass those savings on to the customer is very high discounts.

To sum up, the key to getting the best pricing on your Lifetime tables is to purchase fold-in-half models when suitable for small quantity purchases, and order the largest packages possible to get you the appropriate quantity for large quantity purchases.

80161 Table Review

This Lifetime adjustable-height table was purchased by one of our employees for home use. Below is a copy of his review.

“I purchased this product to use as a standing computer desk table. I currently have had the table set at the 36-inch setting and place my laptop on top to allow me to stand while working. The 36-inch height setting, I thought would be wobbly, but is actually very sturdy. When placing my hand on the table and forcing the table side to side, it will move maybe 1/4-inch from side to side. It has been more than stable and tall enough for me to use as a computer desk. The table is easily adjusted up and down. When adjusting upwards, I adjusted one side up one setting at a time. The height-adjustment mechanism uses a push pin to move the table top up and down. Overall, it has been a very good table for me after about 2 weeks of use.”

Lifetime Products makes a variety of table product that are useful for many different situations. Make sure you find the product that most closely matches your intended use. Most times, product with reviews will help you determine what uses have worked for other customers before you, and what uses have not. Here are some additional details you might find useful for understanding the uses and fuctionality of this folding table.

Engaging the Adjusting Mechanism

Red priced items have no volume pricing. There are some relatively infrequent times where the volume price you would have paid at the full price is lower than the red-marked promotional price. If that is the case for your purchase, let us know and we will get the price discounted appropriately.

How does volume and promotional pricing work for Lifetime tables?

On many Lifetime table listings you will notice that many have volume pricing available for purchases involving multiple products of the same SKU. This volume pricing reflects are lower costs in shipping the order to you for higher volumes of the same SKU. On other tables listings, you will notice that the original price (marked in black) is crossed out with a new price (marked in red) next to it. When their is a promotional, or sale, price, volume pricing on the listing becomes obsolete. This is due mostly to the fact that the volume price breaks you see on the listing are still above the promotional price. Thus, red priced items have no volume pricing. There are some relatively infrequent times where the volume price you would have paid at the full price is lower than the red-marked promotional price. If that is the case for your purchase, let us know and we will get the price discounted appropriately.

What types of discounts are additive to promotional pricing on Lifetime plastic tables?

As shown above, volume discounts do not affect the price of Lifetime tables when the table SKU is on a promotional price. That does not mean that that is the only discount available, however. In some cases, around holidays or other high traffic shopping times, we offer a site-wide sale on almost every item. In these cases, the sale price will be marked down based on the site-wide discount when you checkout. Coupon codes and gift certificates are also applicable to any of these table listings whether they are on sale or not. Let us know if you have any questions about pricing for you next purchase.

Lifetime Products Portable Folding Table Designs

Lifetime Products has several tables that are easily portable. These designs include options like fold-in-half tables, carrying handles, camping tables with benches, and folding picnic tables. Each design has some overlapping uses and some specific uses. Here is a run down of these tables, with their model numbers for easy searching.

Fold-in-Half Tables

These types of portable tables come in 4 foot, 6 foot, and 8 foot models. These types of Lifetime table allow for compact storage and easy transportation. Many customers that use this type of table are those needing a light-weight table that can fit in small areas to transport around. Customers like this include DJ’s, wedding receptionists, party planners, and home uses. These model numbers include 80174, 80175, 4428, and 24534.

Carrying Handles

Several tables have carrying handles that will assist in moving these tables around. These handles are on the table top edge. Some of these tables include the fold-in-half models from Lifetime, but others are simply adjustable tables or regular folding-leg tables. Model numbers that have carrying handles include 4428, 80161, 80160, 24534, 80174, and 80175.

Folding Picnic tables

Picnic tables are normally a very large, difficult-to-transport object; however, when you can fold the table flat, it becomes much easier. Lifetime rectangular picnic tables can all fold flat, which makes managing the transportation much easier. Picnic tables from Lifetime that can do this include models 2119, 2123, 80215, and 80123.

Lifetime Products has several different folding chair models. Some of these chairs are merely different colors. Others, however, have different features, structures, and uses. This article will help explain these differences so you know what to look for when you are shopping.

Lifetime Products has been manufacturing plastic folding chairs for more than 10 years now. The original Lifetime chair model has changed very little from the beginning until now, with typically nothing more than cosmetic differences like color and molding. However, since the beginning of production of these chairs, Lifetime Products has also developed several other designs for their chairs. We will be looking at the differences between all of these models in this article.

The most common Lifetime chair today is their tradition, dome-backed chair. These chairs are easily identifiable because of their arched back that looks like the cross-section of a dome. The tubing was once round, but has since changed to an oval shape. The frame color has also changed from a gray color to a charcoal color. Frequently, these chairs are marketed as a “Commercial Grade” folding chair. These chairs will also carry a 10 year warranty. The original Lifetime chair of this design was only available in white. Today, these chairs can be found in white, almond, black, and putty colors. The next most common Lifetime chair is actually very comparable to the commercial grade chair.

This other, dome-backed folding chair is frequently marketed as a “light-duty” chair. Light duty, in this case, refers to a lighter-duty folding frame, which translates into a shorter warranty period: 2 years. This chair is infrequently found in stores. You are more likely to find this chair on the internet. This chair is also almost entirely indistinguishable from the commercial duty chair on initial comparison, so pay attention to the details of the product description. This chair is available in white only. Comparable to this chair was the now discontinued Accent model from Lifetime Products.

The Accent chair model was also a cheaper chair like the light-duty chair now. It had a smaller seat and back and a weaker folding frame. If you have this chair, Lifetime Products no longer supports the chair. It had a 2-year warranty period and has now been discontinued for 3 years. Lifetime used this model as a take-off point for their Contemporary chair model.

The contemporary chair model is immediately distinguished from the other chairs already mentioned by it square shape. The back is more square and the seat is more square. While the chair might still look like a watered-down version of the commercial grade chair already mentioned, the contemporary chair actually maintains the same structural strength and the commercial grade model, which is also reflected in the 10-year warranty. This chair is available on Almond only. Lastly, we deviate entirely from the traditional, 4-leg folding chair design for Lifetime Products loop-leg chair design.

When we say loop-leg, we mean just that; the legs loop together. The front and back legs are connected with a steel loop. Typically, these chairs are not found in retail store locations because of their unusual need. These types of chairs are available in white and almond colors.

Lifetime Chair Maintenance

Lifetime folding chairs feature a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic seat and back. HDPE is easily cleaned with soap and water. The material is virtually stain-resistant. If soap and water does not get it cleaned up, you might also try a mild abrasive, like Soft Scrub. Thus, Lifetime chairs rarely need any additional work done on the seat and backs. The frame of the chair is made with poweder-coated steel. The powder coating helps resist rusting for indoor and outdoor uses. If the chair does get wet, drying the chair off is ideal before storage.

Help with Lifetime Products Assembly

Some customers, among others, have reported back on their Lifetime Products item they purchased. They frequently advise us on the difficulty they experience when assembling their items. To be clear, most customers do not have any troubles with their items – a small minority do. Of that minority, the majority of those take issue with the assembly. We recently had one of our employees purchase one of the 22127 Lifetime round picnic tables and wanted to report back on the assembly experience. Please note that while you may not be purchasing a Lifetime picnic table, the point of this is instructive and should be applicable to any of Lifetime Products models.

Assembling the 22127 Lifetime Picnic Table

“I must say, to start out, that not any one step of the assembly was difficult or hard to understand. However, it did take my wife and me 3 hours to put the table together. Hopefully, our experience will help you slash your assembly time in half, or better. One thing that you should be aware of to start your assembly is that Lifetime frequently groups hardware parts (screws, nuts, bolts, etc.) by section of the assembly. This is to help you keep track of what you are doing and what you need next. So, on our 22127, for instance, the hardware was grouped by table frame assembly and bench assembly. Figuring this out before you start making the product should help cut time off your assembly. From there, like I mentioned previously, no one step was difficult to understand. However, when reading the instructions, you really need to do just that – READ THEM! As soon as you start assuming, based on the picture or parts needed for that step – what you need to do for that step, you are going to run into trouble. For instance, at the end of several steps in the 22127 assembly, Lifetime will have little boxes that say stuff like, ‘Warning: Do not do such-and-such thing until such-and-such step’ or ‘Important: Do such-and-such thing before proceeding with such-and-such thing’. In particular, one part of the table frame assembly had us attach a horizontal bar to the main framework of the table using a couple of screws. Sounds easy enough, right? So, I started attaching the bars like a I would anything with multiple screws, screw in each screw part way at a time until they are snug. However, as I approached it this way I found that one could start just fine, but the other was impossible to move to the point the other one had done. After nearly stripping the second screw to a point it could not be used, I noticed one of those little boxes on the instructions that said that I needed to put in one screw at a time. Upon completing the first screw, I was to unscrew it one full rotation and then put in the other screw. So, I did just that and almost like magic, the other screw went right in. Reading the entire step on the instructions before proceeding with assembly will save you tons of time. The instructions are parts are just fine, in my opinion. The only thing the person assembling the product needs to do is read them.”

Lifetime Products manufacturers low-end table line for discount stores

Yesterday, I was walking through the store when I stumbled across a well-known brand name at a discount store. As I looked at the product, a folding table, I immediately recognized the design as being very familiar. The product was a 5 and 6-foot fold-in-half table. The product label was not what I expected because I knew the design was definitely from Lifetime Products, but this label showed a completely different brand entirely. Sure enough, upon closer invenstigation I found the Lifetime logo inprinted on the table. How could this be? The table was clearly of inferior quality of any Lifetime table I had ever dealt with – the table top was thinner, the leg frame was smaller, and the product was truly weaker in every regard. I unfolded the table and set it up in the aisle for further investigation. Everything seemed to be right in the design, just a poor quality.

Do Not Be Fooled By Low-End Quality Lifetime Tables

Just because you see the Lifetime logo on the table, does not necessarily mean that you are getting the quality of table Competitive Edge Products sells. Frequently, when compromising on quality – as in the case of these low-end folding tables I saw at the store – you weaken the table top and frame. This weakening means a lower weight capacity and a shorter life of use. Call or email us if you have any questions.
