  1. Dan the Man says:

I purchased six of these chairs and found them to be very easy to assemble. I did not use the tool that was provided rather I used a bit which I know greatly improved my assembly time. A word of caution…don’t over tighten the screws as this can lead to cracked boards. These are very heavy duty and comfortable as well.

  2. Robert A. Marvin says:

I just got through assembling the second of two Lifetime Adirondack Chairs that were delivered earlier this week. The chairs were somewhat easier to put together than I had anticipated. The seat comes fully assembled and the back comes 3/4 assembled. Another reviewer suggested using a 5/32″ hex key bit instead of the supplied allen key to install the MANY screws needed to assemble the chairs. That saved a LOT of time. One screw under both arms of each chair wasn’t accessible with my screw gun and required use of the allen key–those four screws (on two chairs) took a fair amount of extra time; I’m glad I didn’t have to drive dozens of screws that way!

I have one important tip; I found that it was better to start each screw with the allen key and to lubricate the threads [soap for the first chair I assembled, candle wax for the second--both worked equally well]. That way I avoided stripping any screw heads, a problem some other reviewers had mentioned.

I suspect that the quality of these chairs may have improved since last year. All the holes were properly pre-drilled and the quality of the stainless steel hardware seems quite high. The only problem I had was that the end 1/3rd of a largely decorative bracket on one leg of the second chair I assembled was cracked off. I might have downgraded my rating by one star because of this, but I did not do so because the defect is not structural, Lifetime readily agreed to send me a replacement part when I phoned them, and I was able to epoxy the broken part in place. Since it’s under an arm it doesn’t really show, although I’ll probably replace the broken part when the replacement arrives. IF it doesn’t arrive I’ll revise my rating downward, but I doubt that it’ll be a problem, since another reviewer mentioned Lifetime sending replacement parts.

One other change I noticed on these chairs from last year (when I first saw them on sale at Costco, but delayed going to purchase them until they were all gone) was that the ugly “Lifetime” label which (I think) was screwed in place last year) is now a sticker, that can be easily peeled off–something that pleases my wife.

The chairs are VERY comfortable–more so than the cheap molded plastic adirondack chairs they’re replacing–I think it has something to do with the angle of the back. They also look a lot nicer than my old adirondack chairs.

5/3/13–The replacement for the one broken part came today–Lifetime sent this based only on my phone call–no formal warranty claim with photographs was needed. I’m VERY impressed with their customer service!

  3. Mr. Edward C. Muckerman "The Andrews Agency" says:

I put four of these chairs together in about 30 minutes apiece and I found the product and instructions to be very well laid out. I placed these chairs at a marina where they will be exposed to salt air but I think based on the design and durability of this product that I will have these for years!

  4. Liz Ryan says:

The chair is attractive and sturdy, and faily simple to put together. However, the orangy teak color did not look well on our wood deck. I solved the problem by rubbing in ebony wood stain, which worked very well, and gave the chair a weathered wood look. The compasite absorbed the stain perfectly, and it is holding up well outdoors. I was so pleased with it I ordered a second chair and will stain it to match.

  5. Bruce Tate says:

We have eight chairs across three different properties, and are slowly accumulating more. They are in Texas where sun and salt are very hard on furniture like this. They take a little while to put together, even with a drill, but the end result is worth. it. They are very sturdy, hold up well to the salt, sun, and our guests. Lifetime stands behind their work. We’ve had no problems with them replacing parts if there is any question at all.

    Great company, great product.

  6. sloughliving "sloughliving" says:

i went back and forth about which adirondak to order. my artsy self wanted the traditional wooden chair, perhaps with a splash of vibrant color… but i ordered this one and am pleased as punch that i did. it looks like a wooden adirondak. the arm rests are wide enough to support my latest summer read and the chair is comfy enough to wile away the hours with book in hand and an ice cold lemonade. worth every penny!

  7. Jimmy says:

Color: I first noticed the color isn’t like the photo’s AT ALL. Mine is MUCH lighter creamy-tan and the photo shows slightly varrying dice. All one flat, very light color.

Assembly: Pretty easy to put together except for some pieces not exact so screwing in was difficult on about half a dozen holes..really had to force-hold a couple pieces together to screw them in. I always do all screws in a certain area loosely until they are all in so it wasn’t me being inept..I’ve put dozens upon dozens of pieces together of many brands for my kid’s apartments and dorms (entertainment centers, dressers, night stands, tables, beds, name it) so I’ll say the instructions are super easy it’s just not 100% accurate.

Final Notes: For this over-inflated price (considering it’s recycled, not that great of color as it’s misrepresented in the photo.. and this is a simple adirondack folks..) it should be ACCURATE. Not sure how they can claim this polywood stuff lasts a lifetime either…until they’ve seen if the thing actually lasts a lifetime! (As in…let’s see if my grandkids are enjoying it one day…) Also saw that someone found them half this two-hundred-dollar price at local warehouse stores…I’d pay that price in a heartbeat. BUT..I do like the chair and also like that it’s heavy as we get some good winds here. Recommend, and yup…going to buy another to match this one! :)
