Q: How high should the system be placed on the pole?
A: So the pole should be = 105” above the playing surface so that the rim can reach 10’.
Q: I have a Spaulding 564FR acrylic backboard with rim, but need the mounting bracket and pole. I want to get the 316SP U-Turn lift system bracket, but I can't find any place to order a 3.5" round or 4" square pole. Do you guys also sell the poles?
A: We don't sell the poles I'm sorry to say. For that you may want to call Spalding at 800-558-5234
Q: Is it possible to use this system on a 4.5" round pole? If so, how?
A: It is not possible I'm sorry to say.
Q: Does the sloped roof mount come with the adjustable arm and bracket? It is unclear in checkout.
A: Yes, it's the same bracket for a sloped or flat roof mount-you just have extra pieces depending on which option you go with once you unbox it.
Q: It says my pole has to be 9ft for this bracket to reach 10ft ... my pole is only 7’8’’ out the ground ... Winston height will it reach with this bracelet?
A: It will reach about 8.5' with those dimensions.
Q: My pole is only 7’8’’ out the ground , will it still reach 10’ with this bracket?
A: It will not, unfortunately.
Q: Is this bracket system compatible with a Lifetime 90086 50 inch polycarbonate backboard and rim?
A: No, they are not cross-brand compatible, you will need a lifetime bracket such as the 1044
Q: We have mounted this to the very front of our roof. At its lowest point it is 10' 2". We wanted that to be the highest point. We will never raise it higher than regulation- we wanted it lower for our younger grandkids. How do you mount it on a roof to make the fact that it moves up and down useful?
A: We would recommend contacting Spalding Directly at 1-800-558-5234 for that info. Unfortunately, last I heard was that their customer service phone calls got shut down due to COVID, but You may be able to contact them here: https://www.Spalding.com/customer-service/general-help/contact-us
Q: Is this the U-Turn lift system that fits a 3.5 pole not a 4 square ?
A: It fits both a 3.5" round and a 4" square pole.
Q: I need to replace the backboard on my Beast by Spalding. It has the 60" glass. Can I replace it with the Spalding 79351 Backboard/Rim Combo with 44-Inch PolyCarbonate Backboard?
A: If you are ordering a basketball backboard to replace a backboard on an existing Spalding basketball system, please contact the customer service team first to have them confirm if this will work with your system. They can be reached at 800-558-5234.
Q: Do you have dimensions for the included components? On page 5 of the instructions, I'm specifically interested in the length of parts #23, #26 (both ends/sides of the bend) and #30. Thanks!
A: That's a great question. I'm afraid the only way to find out is by calling 800-558-5234. Please feel free to post the answer on here.
Q: How long are the elevator arms? In other words if assembled and arms are horizontal, what is the distance from the back of the backboard to the bracket?
A: The distance is 3 feet.
Q: Is there an adjustable (height) wall mount bracket for a basketball backboard?
A: This is an adjustable wall mount bracket 316. There is a chart if you scroll down or up depending on what you are looking at right now-the chart shows you which backboards are compatible with this adjustable wall mounted bracket.
Q: What is the maximum distance between the wall and the backboard? I'm assuming this can be obtained with the bracket extending horizontally, parallel to the ground.
A: It can be approximately 3' offset from pole/wall.
Q: 4" square pole in place; does the installation ON THE POLE only require the two u-bolts shown ?
A: This mounting bracket includes everything you need to mount it to a 3.5" round, or 4" square pole. It can also be mounted to a wall or roof.
Q: I have a 4 inch square pole Will this work with that?
A: Yes, it works with a 4 in.² pole or a 3.5" round pole. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.
Q: There is a little pin the secures the height adjustment pole to the unit. The pin slides into a little hole that holds the height adjustment pole in place. My pin came out and I can't find it. Do you sell just the pin?
A: For replacement parts please call 1-800-558-5234.
Q: Can this bracket be fitted to work on a 4 " steel pole ?
A: This will work on a 4” Square pole.
Q: How much wall space is required to attach this product to a flat surface?
A: An exact measurement is not given, please see the instructions for more detail. A 1’ wide by 2’ tall spot should be large enough to attach the back of the bracket; though obstructions above or below this may hinder the adjustability.
Q: Can your product attach to a 4 1/2 inch diameter pole?
A: This only attaches to a 4 in.² hole or a 3.5" round pole. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.
Q: Is the 316 U-Turn Lift System bracket compatible with a Lifetime Backboard and Rim Combo, Model 73650? Can it be modified to work with it? Can you provide a detail design drawing for the 316 U-Turn Lift System? Perhaps I can figure out how to use it with the Lifetime Backboard. Thank you.
A: The brackets 316 is not compatible with model 73650. It only works with Spalding backboards. Model 73650 works with brackets number 1044 and 9594. Feel free to contact us with any other questions
Q: Will this fit on a 5" Square pole?
A: No, this will only fit on a 4” square pole. We have brackets that will work on 4” square poles, of 3.5” round poles.
Q: I want to mount this to the front of my garage on a flat service. What is the lowest point I can mount it and be able to adjust it to 10 feet? Thanks
A: I believe (correct me if I am wrong) that the question was what height would the customer need to mount his bracket at, so that when the lift is fully extended to its max. setting, the rim height will be exactly at 10 feet. If this is what was being asked, the bottom of bracket should be ~88" from the ground (see updated image on our site for reference).
Q: Is this just the U-turn lift system to replace a broken one? We use our own existing backboard?
A: This is a complete set. It replaces everything except the pole and backboard.
Q: Will this bracket fit a 3.5" round pole?
A: Yes, it will fit a 3.5" round pole.
Q: Will BRACKET fit 4 1/4 " outside diameter ROUND POLE? THANKS RICK R
A: Connects to 3.5" round pole or a 4 square pole only
Q: this says fits 3.5 inch pole. Will adjust to a 3 in pole? (I currently have the Huffy 219078)... I measured the pole a few times, it's only 3 inch not 3.5
A: This only works with the 3 1/2 inch round pole or a 4 in square pole. It does not work with any other sizes larger or smaller such as 3 inches I'm sorry to say. Unfortunately, we don't carry anything that works with 3 inches round.
Q: What wall mounting system will work for 411 008 super glass? A 316 Spalding/ Huffy U turn lift system?
A: I don't think it will work, but I would recommend calling 800-558-5234.
Q: Is this strong and able to hold a good amount of weight?
A: It is designed to withstand holding a 54 inch acrylic backboard and slam dunking in addition to that. The manufacturer does not recommend hanging on the rim, however. Slamming the ball and hanging on the rim are two different things and none of the manufacturers recommend hanging on the rim for safety reasons.
Q: Will attaching it to concrete work?
A: Yes, you can attach it to concrete following the owners manual.
Q: After installing the backboard it seems a little wobbly is there a way to stop this?
A: Have you checked your spacers? If you left out any spacers you may have a little extra movement. If you have checked your spacers and have tightened everything properly please contact the manufacturers customer service (the number on the booklet) at 800-558-5234.
