60125 - 10 ft. Shed Snow Load Kit

I bought the 60211U (8x10) from Costco. I built it with little problem and then found out about this kit. I ordered the kit and it came promptly with all hardware needed (and a few extra screws). It was easy enough to install, but I wish I knew of the kit before I bought/assembled the shed. The bar across the top would have been much easier to install before putting the roof trusses up. The supports on the side really can't be installed until you have your roof on and tighten everything up. A good fast drill can make short work of ALL the self tapping screws that need to be put it. The bracing that comes with the shed seems sturdy enough, but the added security of extra bracing is worth it. It looks really strong now. Internal Bracing Installed

I have a lifetime shed and last winter the roof collapsed. There was maybe two or three feet of snow load on it. We live in Idaho so snow load can be a problem. I repaired the roof and installed a snow load kit. Record snow fall this year and the roof held! This is a must have item for anybody in northern states! Originally posted on 8 ft. Bought the 8 X 7. 5 storage unit and additionally the snow supports. Followed shed instructions and installed snow supports at correct time. READ INSTRUCTIONS for both and you make good decisions. Took two easy days by myself and I am very satisfied with results. Expect good usage for many years.

I bought this to replace an old, rusted shed for the new rotor-tiller that I bought. After building a wood foundation as the slabs weren't level a friend and I got it put together in a few hours. The directions were easy to read and understand. I bought a strengthening kit to give it more support for heavy winter snows. I also bought an extra shelf which adds for stability as it attaches to each side. It has a window and light can shine down from the pitch and the doors have windows. Plenty of light

I bought the 60001 shed and the assembly instructions caution against allowing more than 6 inches of snow on the roof to avoid a collapse. However the instructions do NOT tell you that a Snow Load Kit is available. I only learned about it by reading online comments. Costco and Lowe's sell the sheds in Canada but neither carries the snow kit. Couldn't find it anywhere online in Canada either. I ordered it in the US and had it shipped to a border pick-up facility. Strange for a country that gets a lot of snow. We will work with our contacts at each retailer to see if this is something that they would like to consider.

I bought this for my 8'x15' shed (NOT Side-Entry) because that is what was recommended for my shed (from the web page and Lifetime support). It seems to me, that sheds sold in snow country should come with this 'accessory' even if it costs a bit more. Is lifetime expecting half of them to cave in (those whose owners didn't know about it). If not why is it needed/sold? Installing it is not too bad but no where as easy as it could be. No holes are pre drilled (they should be), but the screws, if you are strong and have an impact drill, can make their own hole. The nut on the center threaded rod is near impossible to remove without marking up the rod - that could have been MUCH better designed. So it's certainly an afterthought. And of course there were pieces for a SIDE-Entry shed which took the technical support person a while to figure out that they weren't needed for my shed. Now I want to make sure it's understood that the technical support people (well the 2 I spoke to - one during initial assembly and one for this issue) are fantastic. They are helpful, pretty knowledgeable and friendly. I think Lifetime sheds are, in general a good product, but this snow load accessory could be better designed an integrated in the shed. Snow load kits are sold separately due to the fact that we do not control where each shed goes. The same model could be sold all over the world, so it is better that the customer have the option to purchase the snow load kit if they need it.
