7804SP Spalding Basketball Accessories Orange Flex Breakaway Rim

I purchased this basketball rim to replace a much older broken one at a church basketball court. The purchase and delivery were fine, but the product itself was not very functional. The mounting pattern was 5 x 4, which is meant for these bigger venues (not just a home basketball court). It installed quite easily, but just a light pull down and the rim and it would easily bend down. There was 1 small spring that was pretty loose. just the basketball hitting the rim would cause it to lower. I tightened the spring per the instructions and while the rim tightened up to an extent, when a basketball would hit it, it would vibrate quite a bit. I could never tighten it down all the way to remove the vibration, and at that point, it was no longer a breakaway rim. Seems like it may be ok for some home applications, but even then, i would look at other options.
Seller Response: That's definitely not normal. It's intended to be a very rigid basketball rim for the high-end Spalding systems. Something is likely wrong.
