60-Inch Glass Backboard

60 inch wide, tempered glass Backboard.
1/4 inch thick material.
Glass provides a superior rebound compared to Acrylic, polycarbonate, or plastic backboards.
4-point, welded Z-arm backboard mounting.
Heavy-duty steel frame with aluminum trim.
Clearance from backboard to base: 2 feet.

Pole and Portable Base

Height Adjustments Made Easy

55 Gallon Portable Base fills with sand or water for added stability.
Filling the base with sand increases the weighted base by about 1 1/2 times the weight than if it was filled with water.
Multi wheel casters provides better stability in moving the product around.
5 inch rectangular pole attaches to the base with 4 supports for great stability and rigidity than traditional portable basketball systems.
Pole comes in 2 pieces.
Screw in water level gauge base caps.
The square pole on this system provides less wobble and more durability than a traditional 3.5 round pole on other systems.
Powder coated on steel parts helps reduce rusting.

My buddies helped build it and it took about 2.5 hours. Very solid product and my son loves it. Fast shipping, highly recommend if you’re looking for a stable but yet portable hoop.

Worth $$$

Great hoop well worth the $$$. Like all the other reviews make sure you have 3 to 4 men to put it together. Spalding needs to come up with a much simpler way of filling the base with sand. (ie. a latch top on the base that is water proof which will allow the base to be filled with sand with out having to constantly tip the hoop to get the sand in)

The Beast is the best!

We purchased this hoop on a Monday it was delivered by Friday and after about a four hour setup on Saturday my thirteen year old was having his own slam dunk contest. Building this hoop isn't hard at all, I lined inside of top pole with grease and a couple slams on the wood they went together pretty easy. We filled the two tanks with 10 50lbs. bags of sand (500lbs.) and moving this beast is still relatively easy! It took three adults to attach backboard and using the bed of a pickup truck was cake. For the extra money you'll spend on this thing is hands down worth it!

Love the Beast

Very solid. Easy to move. Nice backboard. Son loves it. Comes in 3 large boxes, took 4.5 hours to put together ... . but worth it. Much more sturdy than our old hoop. Yes, Id buy it again.

Spalding Beast-Holds its name

The truck delivers the unit in 3 large boxes. It does take a very long time to put together (at least 4 hours) but it is pretty easy except for the lifting parts. My 3 kids did the most of it except for the lifting parts. We used water to fill and went according to the instructions. It does take at least 2-3 people as some have to hold while you fill so the unit does not tip. With water it is still very sturdy. After finally getting it together to use my twin boys think it is AWESOME and one of the best things they ever received. They are going to be starting Freshman (HS) basketball and this unit is definitely better than what we had. The glass makes a super difference. Enjoy!
