Nice hoop, very sturdy, missing hardware

Bought for my 13 year son to replace portable yard hoop. Very sturdy and easy to assemble with 2 people, but will 3 adults to lift to connect to the base. Hinged system and the fact that it is made in the USA were the selling points for me to buy over other similarly priced brand hoops. I would give it 4-5 stars if it wasn't missing hardware. The 4 backboard mounting screws and 2 washers were missing from the hardware package. I was able to buy what I needed from the local hardware store, but frustrating none the less over the missing parts. Not what I expect with a $1500 in ground hoop, but had a similar missing parts experience with my cheap portable hoop. Review Source: Manufacturer

The Spalding 881351 is a complete in-ground basketball system with a 44-inch Makrolon polycarbonate backboard, regulation 18-inch breakaway rim, 3-inch round steel pole, Pro Glide height adjuster, net, and ground sleeve. The rim adjusts from 7.5–10 feet in 6-inch increments, and concrete installation and assembly are required.

Shipping Timeframe Closeout orders generally leave the Alexander City, Alabama factory within 2 business days while supplies remain available. Transit time begins after shipment and depends on the destination and FedEx movement.

Tracking Information Tracking information is automatically emailed after the order ships. Use the FedEx tracking link to monitor the package and view the latest estimated delivery date. If separate tracking numbers are provided, monitor each shipment.

FedEx Delivery This basketball system ships by FedEx and may not require a signature. Arrange a clear, protected delivery area with enough room for the system components. The driver is not responsible for moving the package to the installation location.

Delivery and Inspection Inspect the package when it arrives. Check the polycarbonate backboard, steel frame, breakaway rim, welded net hooks, net, pole sections, pole cap, ground sleeve, lift mechanism, rigid support arms, and hardware for cracks, bending, chipped coating, missing pieces, or other shipping damage. Note visible package damage with the driver when possible and retain all packaging.

Confirm the installation location before assembly and arrange for at least two adults to handle the system, with additional help available when raising and connecting the assembled components. This is not a portable hoop: a concrete foundation is required, and installation service and concrete are not included. Follow the supplied manual for use of the included ground sleeve, hole dimensions, concrete amount, curing time, and pole depth. Verify that all backboard mounting screws, washers, and other hardware are present before beginning installation, and keep the original packaging until the system is fully assembled.
