A very large 60 inch X 38 inch Glass backboard.
3/8 inch thick Pro-Tek tempered glass.
Aluminum backboard trim.

Pole and Height Adjuster

Shipping Your Spalding 60-Inch In-Ground Basketball Hoop: What to Expect

The Spalding 888160 is a large in-ground basketball system with a 60" x 38", 3/8"-thick Pro-Tek tempered-glass backboard, 6" x 6" one-piece steel pole, 9" x 9" anchor plate, Flex rim, all-weather net, pole pad, and U-Turn height-adjustment mechanism. The complete system weighs approximately 347 lbs. and ships in four packages.

Shipping Timeframe Orders generally leave the Alexander City, Alabama warehouse within 2–4 business days. Transit time begins after shipment and depends on the freight carrier, destination, and delivery appointment availability.

Tracking Information Tracking information is emailed after the order ships. The freight carrier will contact you before delivery to arrange an appointment. If separate tracking numbers are provided, monitor each shipment.

Curbside Freight Delivery This oversized basketball system ships through an LTL freight carrier rather than standard UPS or FedEx parcel service. Delivery is curbside, and an adult must be present to inspect and sign for the shipment. The driver may require assistance unloading the four packages and is not responsible for moving them into a garage, home, backyard, or installation area.

Delivery and Inspection Inspect all packages before signing. Check for crushed corners, punctures, torn cardboard, broken bands, exposed metal, or possible glass damage. Note all visible or suspected damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves. After delivery, verify the tempered-glass backboard, Flex rim, all-weather net, one-piece pole, anchor plate, U-Turn lift mechanism, pole pad, steel framework, hardware, and all four packages before discarding any packaging.

Pro-Tip for In-Ground Hoop Delivery:

Plan the installation location before delivery and arrange for several capable adults to unload, move, and assemble the system. This is not a portable hoop: the 9" x 9" anchor plate must be secured in concrete, and concrete work and installation service are not included. Follow the supplied manual for excavation, concrete requirements, anchor placement, curing time, and final assembly. The 60-inch glass backboard and 347 lb. total system weight make additional lifting help especially important. Keep every carton and packing component until the system has been fully inspected and assembled.

A: You can cement the pole in or you can cement an anchor so that you can move your basketball hoop if needed.
