The 8056SP is meant for use with Spalding's
Arena View Basketball Systems
. All you need to do is match the pole pad with the proper size pole - 5 or 6 inches square - and get that system. If you are getting this basketball pole pad for an existing system, please make sure your pole is 5 or 6 inches square. As long as your pole is the correct size, this pole pad should be able to fit (assuming that the manufacturer of your system follows standard measuring procedures). Q:
I have a hydra rib in ground goal pole which I square and 5 inches on each side. A total of 20” if completely go around. Is this 8056 5 inches on each side and does it cover 3 side-saddle?

The 5 inches is on the front. It covers the three sides, but the bulk of the cushioning is the front.

Unfortunately the only other spalding basketball pads we currently sell are the
8040
, and the
8809SR
. The 8809SR is only 28" tall, so perhaps you could get a few of them if you would like to cover more of the pole?

A:
No. Pole pads are designed to protect the side of the pole and the front of the pole, where basketball is usually played. On the back of the pole pad is where the Velcro attachments will be. There is not padding where the Velcro straps are on the back.

The pole pad's purpose is to protect players from direct impact with the pole while playing a basketball game. Aggressive basketball playing is almost always safer near the pole with the pole is covered with some sort of padding.
