Dover 12' Wood Garage Shed Kit
This single-car garage offers attractive carriage house doors which open outward providing an 8ft. x 7ft. opening. The Dover garage is a Do-it-Yourself kit constructed of the highest quality 2×4 framing. Available in 16ft., 20ft., and 24ft. lengths this 12ft. wide garage has room for your car and still allows for storage or tools or both. Carriage house doors include a lockable door handle with keys. Choose optional windows and shutters or a walk-in door for additional light and access. During construction, you choose the location of windows and doors if purchased. Finish your new garage with the paint color of your choosing, not included. The siding and trim are primed and ready to paint. Shingles or metal roofing can be installed on this garage kit. Choose the style that matches your needs. The Dover garage includes pressure-treated bottom plates for construction on a cement slab. Optionally a sturdy-built wood floor can be purchased if a cement slab isn’t desired or required. Choose the wood floor after selecting the size of the kit you wish to purchase. Features
Featuring carriage house-style doors that swing outward and provide light through large transom windows. The door opening is 8ft. Wide x 7ft. High. Add additional items like a walk-in door or windows with shutters to build as you like.
Constructed of premium 2x4 framing spaced 24in. o.c. the Dover garage includes pressure-treated bottom wall plates if you choose to build on a cement pad. Or, you may order an optional sturdy-built wood floor. Finish your new garage by purchasing shingles or a metal roof and painting the color of your choice.
Shingles and paint are purchased separately.
Siding
The 3/8" siding is made from wood strands, pressed into a resin-saturated substrate, superior to plywood. A cedar texture is embossed into the substrate, free from knot holes and patches. It comes primed and ready for the paint color of your choice. Latex acrylic paint is recommended. It has been treated with Composibor preventing fungal decay and insect damage. The siding is backed with a 50-year limited warranty.
Trusses
The precut trusses are engineered to handle severe snow loads of 40 psf and 150 mph wind loads. Part of the hardware includes hurricane truss hangers for added wind strength.
Doors
An optional walk-in entry door gives additional access.
Pre-hung 9-lite walk-in 32x80 door includes aluminum threshold and lockset.
Windowless pre-hung 6-panel 32x80 steel walk-in door also includes threshold and lockset.
Hardware
The Best Barn wood shed kit components fit easily into place with no special tools or skills required. All required hardware is included. Roof edge and shingles are provided by the owner as most customer’s want to purchase that locally to match their home.
Floor
Optional Floor: If you have an already existing level foundation, cement slab, blacktop or gravel base, the floor kit is still recommended as you do not want your siding and walls touching the ground where they can soak up water. If you don’t purchase the floor, you’ll need some sort of wooden base or material to raise the shed off the direct ground. The floor includes treated 4x4 runners, 2 x 4's for the floor joists, and ¾” plywood. Raising the foundation above the ground the 4 x 4's allow air to flow an eliminate moisture. All nails are included. The floor does require cutting and assembly and floor sheathing is not treated.
Windows
Optional Windows: Single-hung aluminum 18x27 windows provide light and ventilation. The lockable frames are durable and easy to operate. Screens limit insects, birds, leaves, etc. Window includes raised panel vinyl shutters ready to paint.
Decorative octagonal gable windows illuminate interiors, beautify exteriors.
