Why get a vestibule wing attachment for your Kodiak tent?

What is a vestibule wing?

A vestibule is an attachment for the awning on both the 10x10 and 10x14 Kodiak flex-bow tents. This accessory does not work any other sizes of flex-bow tent nor with the cabin tent models. The vestibule is made out of canvas, just like the rest of the tent. It attaches to the awning using grommet holes and helps to seal off the long side of the awning as well as part of the shorter sides of the awning.

New Kodiak Canvas Products Fall of 2019

New Kodiak Canvas Products Fall of 2019

Kodiak will finally be producing a tent that can accommodate a stove jack for extreme winter camping.  We have had many customers over the years ask about whether there exists a Kodiak tent with a stove option or whether they can add a stove kit to their existing tent.  Unfortunately, we have had to tell them no to both questions. Still, customers have sometimes added stove kits anyway. Generally they add them to the cabin tent that is 12' x 9' and has an attached sewn on awning that is 8' x 8.5' with an exposed floor. They would add a stove to the awning area since the ground is exposed and simply open the window and/or the door to let the heat dissipate throughout the main tent body.

Set Up Camp Before Your Kids Go Crazy

Jim Gaffigan once joked that the happiest person in the campground is the guy leaving to go home. I am sure many people would say that either jokingly or seriously. What I am wondering, though, is why that is even a thing. I get that some people just do not like being in the outdoors, but wouldn't they like the outdoors a bit more if camping was easier to do?

Which models include the special cinch and strap bag?

The deluxe models only carry the cinch and strap carrying bag. All other models carry a simple nylon bag that zips up. In the past the cinch and strap bags were included in all models. To help bring costs down on some models the simple nylon bag was substituted as some customers would prefer a lower price and regular bag. All deluxe models such as 6010 and 6014 include the nicer strap bag at no extra cost.

Is it normal to have a seam on the roof of the kodiak tent?

Yes that is normal. Kodiak manufacturers them in away that takes advantage of the fabric length and size so as to eliminate waste.  The good news is we've had the seam across the ceiling for several year with zero leaking issues.  These seams are water tight, down facing lap felled, and will not leak.

How long will a Kodiak Flex Bow tent last?

Kodiak provides a lifetime warranty on their tents.  The warranty obviously doesn't include negligence such as rolling it up when it is soaking wet (happens more often than you'd think).  They are that confident in the longevity of the Kodiak flex-bow tents that they provide such a long warranty.  Warranty calls are quite rare.  When they do get warranty claims they are quick to honor them whether it be sending a new part or sending a new tent if needed.

My personal Kodiak tent has lasted over four years with about 10-15 days of use per year.  I haven't had a single issue and have had many boy scout troops, churches, and neighboring campers ask where I got such a hardcore tent.
