The 71566 Portable Basketball Hoop has a 50 in. shatter guard backboard that will withstand aggressive play. The basketball pole is made from 3 pieces measuring 3.5" in diameter. The 71566 Basketball system has a polycarbonate backboard. Polycarbonate backboards are considered a middle quality as far as rebound goes. Rebound refers to how well the basketball bounces of the backboard. Acrylic and Glass backboards are considered to have a better rebound than polycarbonate. Polycarbonate has a better rebound than plastic. The 50 inch width of the backboard of this system is a middle range size as professionally, a 72 inch width is used.
