Great So Far!

We just installed the new backboard last weekend and so far so good! Our last backboard broke after 9 years so we needed to replace it. Getting the old "hardware" off the mounting system was a bit of a challenge because of the age of the system. Word of advice. . . if you are replacing a backboard take pictures of how the current one is assembled. The directions are a bit difficult to follow but having pictures helped out tremendously! Great Backboard And Customer Service

I bought this backboard to replace an old one that my grand kids use and it is an excellent choice. I was also very impressed by Lifetime's customer service. I purchased the backboard from Amazon and one end of the box was un-taped when it arrived. It seemed to be short on parts, so I call Customer Service, told them what was in the box, and they immediately identified what was missing. They promptly shipped the missing parts! Q: I have a 4" square jack post brand with a mounting plate on the angled arm that, it comes with a bracket for mounting a backboard but I'm not sure it will work with the 90087 backboard. Do you have a bracket I can use. Thank You, Jim S.

A: This will not work with your angled arm. You would need to strip down your pole completely. The bracket that works with a 4" square pole is model 316sp and on that listing it tells you which backboards it is compatible with.

Q: Will this work for an existing in-ground Spaulding pole. Kids broke the backboard and this is the second Spaulding one that has broken. Looking for something to last longer. If so, what do I need to purchase with the backboard? Thank you!

A: The 90087 does not work with Spalding models. You would need to call 800-558-5234 for a compatible backboard.

Q: I need a replacement plexiglass backboard . Our backboard was broken in a hail storm. Have any of those?

A: Basketball Compatibility
First: Is the system made by Lifetime?
Second: Is the pole round?
Third: Is the pole diameter 3.5-inches?
Fourth: Is there a Y-Shaped bracket where the mounting arms mount to the pole?
If you can answer yes to all of these, than any Lifetime backboard and rim combo we sell will work with your hoop. If you answer no to any of these, than the backboards we sell will definitely not work with your system, and you will need to call 1-800-225-3865 to get the backboard you need.

A: This backboard can be used by itself, or as a replacement backboard. If you are using this basketball backboard by itself, you can attach the backboard to either an existing 3.5 inch diameter round pole, to a wall, or to a roof. Doing so will require a mounting bracket (sold separately). If you are attaching this backboard to a roof, you have only one choice of compatible mounting bracket; the 9594 Fixed Height Basketball bracket. Otherwise, if you are attaching the backboard to either a wall or pole, you can use the 9594 or the 1044 adjustable-height bracket. If you are replacing an existing basketball backboard, please contact us to verify compatibility before ordering.

A: This backboard has a Slam-It rim. This rim has 2 springs on the rim mount to the backboard, which helps absorb impact on the rim.

A: If your existing basketball system is less than 10 years old and is a Lifetime Brand (not Huffy/Spalding) then you can use your existing brackets to mount this board. If your existing basketball system is older than 10 years old please call for compatibility.
