60253 Lifetime Convertible Bench – Harbor Gray

The bench is constructed of weather-resistant polystyrene simulated wood (Harbor Gray), with a black frame. The Lifetime Convertible Bench is UV-protected and will not fade, crack, chip, or peel. Unlike wooden benches, the polystyrene will not splinter, and never needs to be painted or varnished. Conversion handles are located on each side. Great Setup for Our Deck!

We decided to use these for our deck setup so we could have both a dining and a gathering setup. We have 3 borders of our deck with nothing on it so we decided to use 3 of these to have both a bench and dining solution. We had our first family gathering yesterday and they worked like a charm. Assembly was overall very easy. However, with our first attempt, it was a bit difficult to understand the steps and images. A point of recommendation would be to make sure you always read through the entire step before you do it so you make sure you follow everything for each step you take. There are times where you do not want to tighten hardware (or over tighten) that can affect later steps. After completing the first one, the last 2 were fairly easy and could be one in about 20 minutes, even with our limited "handyman" skills. The tables are very sturdy - we even had several of the younger kids visiting actually walk across the table tops and monkey around a bit before someone caught them and helped them down.

Fantastic convertible bench

I bought this a few weeks ago from Amazon. I put it up straight away to find one of the slats had been broken in transit. I immediately contacted Amazon and they resolved there and then. The broken piece was luckily at the back of the seat so I was able to tape it up with duck tape and it has not affected the functionality of this bench. It took a couple of hours to put it together by myself, but I did need help toward the end (holding parts steady whilst I aligned with screw holes, etc). I am over the moon with the bench, and the fact that the back converts into a table is just the best!! I was very careful to ensure I held each part in the same way as the pictures in the instruction manual to ensure each part was fitted the correct way as I knew once mistake would probably mean taking it all to pieces and starting again. The bench is solid and looks like it is going to last a long time. I have used it every night since I put it up as the sun sets at the back of my house and its perfect to sit on after evening meal with a cup of coffee watching the world go by. The movement of changing the back rest to a table is so smooth and very easy to do with the help of the big paddles on each side. I am very tempted to buy a second one!!
