90023 Lifetime 44 in. Portable Shatterproof Fusion Basketball Hoop

Lifetime's portable basketball hoops are the perfect option for beginning and seasoned players alike! Move it anywhere you need it—yard, driveway, or home court—with an easy-to-transport base that fills with sand or water to become stable and reliable. This system from Lifetime Products features a 44 in. Shatterproof Fusion™ Backboard. A Quick Adjust® height adjustment mechanism that lifts the rim from 8 to 10 feet high so everyone can play at their own skill level. It also includes a Classic Rim with an all-weather net and a 3 in. diameter round steel pole. With a 31-gallon portable base complete with wheels, this system can easily be moved to a desired location. So bring the arena to your home with a residential basketball system from Lifetime Products.

Adjustment Mechanism - Raise or lower the rim height from 8 to 10 feet using a broomstick. Now players of any age or skill can enjoy the game at their level.

Backboard - The Shatterproof Fusion™ Backboard integrates a shatterproof polycarbonate playing surface with an unbreakable polyethylene frame for a durable, pro-glass look. Graphics are screen-printed with UV-protected inks for superior color and protection against the elements.

Pole and Base - The 3 pc. 3 in. round steel pole is protected with a powder-coated, weather-resistant finish. The system is supported by a heavy duty portable base. Just fill with sand or water and play today. No cement required!

Rim - The original classic basketball rim! The Classic Rim features a 5/8-inch solid-steel ring supported by 1/2-inch braces and an all-weather net.

Great hoop!

Easy to assemble and easy to adjust. Very happy with this hoop. I use water for the base and have had no leaks.

The backboard framing is black plastic. If this does fall over it will bust it into pieces. I put 80 lbs of sand in the base, so we should be fine. Spend the extra $ and get the next expensive one.

Q: What is the difference between this 90023 basketball system and other models such as 1221 and 1268 which all have the same size of backboard

A: The nice thing about model number 90023 compared to the other models is that it has a clear backboard making it look more professional. It also has a better rebound compared to the boards that are not transparent or see through. The other significant difference is that it includes a quick adjust adjustment mechanism that allows you to raise it up and down with a broomstick. The other two models mentioned above have telescoping poles and are not nearly as convenient to adjust up and down.

Q: Do I have to use sand or water to fill the base?

A: Yes, you will need to use one or the other. Sand is extremely heavy and nearly impossible to move if you choose to fill the base with sand. However, it is unlikely it will ever fall over in a windstorm. Water does have a lighter volume making it easier to move around, but is more likely to fall over in an unusually high windstorm. If you use water we recommend placing a few sandbags on the base as a precaution.

A: It will not fade over time as it has ultraviolet protection built into the chemical makeup of the playing surface.
