How to determine the amount of snow load kits you will need to reinforce your Lifetime Shed:

Please note this kit reinforces 1 truss on an 11-foot shed. To give you an idea of how many kits you will need for your Lifetime storage building, the model 6415, which is an 11 ft. x 13.5 ft. shed, has 5 qty. steel trusses. So 5 snow load kits would be required to reinforce all the trusses in this Lifetime shed. From there, if the shed you are ordering is larger or smaller, simply add 1 qty. snow load kit for every 2.5 feet difference in length from the 13.5 foot length of the 6415. So, an 11 x 13.5 shed will have 5 trusses; an 11 x 18.5 shed will have 7.

Well Worth It

I purchased these because I had so much wet snow and ice on the roof of my 11x13 shed last year that it started to buckle the roof braces. The braces were generally easy to install. Either the braces on my (previously assembled) shed were installed upside down or the instructions were a little off (going by the pictures.) The instructions show that there is a hole about 8 - 10" from the wall on each of the roof supports. The hole, on mine, were up towards the ridge vent and I wasn't going to drill new ones. I ended up bolting one end of the braces to the factory hole where the wall support meets the roof support. The other end lined up with the hole in the horizontal brace (this is also the hole that the small brace bolts to). Since my roof was slightly sagged from the wet snow from last year I took an automotive floor jack and an 8' 2"x4" to lift the roof up and get the holes to line up. I jacked each roof support up right where the new brace met the factory horizontal brace. Each brace took me about 30-40min but now that it's all installed the roof is now straight again and can hold 32lbs/ft rather than the 16lbs.I would assume if your roof is not bent or buckling you can complete this job more quickly. I am VERY happy with these supports and would HIGHLY recommend them to anybody that lives in an area where it snows or you can't always rake the roof of your shed.

Easily Installed

I actually installed this on my 8 x 10 shed with the door on the long side. Had to do some minor modifications but very easily installed and it is not a two person job. One person can easily install this
