Looking for quality product in age and weight related parameters were impossible this season. Due to covid many family sport products were impossible to find in our area, looked for used, new. Etc. I had no interest in spending $500 for a child's kayak which had a waiting list as well. Found this company through google search and have been pleasantly surprised by great customer service, support and communication. Product arrived at estimated time and kids are enjoying their well made kayak. Nice toggles to carry. Fit the 2 in minivan and nice back. Kids swim off used in ocean harbor, have no worry if used in coast area. No dear purchased yet but will next year. Ages 7 and 9 . would easily purchase from this terrific company again

The ease at which our 6 year old grandson took to navigating the Recruit 6. 5 kayak was astonishing. He paddled along the shoreline with such ease. Our 4 year old granddaughter is looking forward to getting her own for her birthday. We were very impressed with the Lifetime brand! I purchased the youth Recruit in pink. It did not come with a seat. When kayaking for hours at a time, a kid needs a seat. Called and they sent me one the was modified for this version of kayak. Pros- stable so my daughter can stand with easy and climb from back and get to her seat area. The seat they sent was made of food so it did not cut or hurt her when she climbed from the back. East to carry, although a deeper inside grove would be better. Cons- seat does not offer a lot of support because it is made of foam. Flops about when attached since it is only attached with two holdings going forward and not two going back. The flatter front makes it hard to glade so more effort is needed compared to a larger yak. The paddles need to be curved more. Suggestion- attach the seat with two steps forward and two going back. Maybe put a folding seating as on adoption for those longer floats.
