I have never owned a paddle board but I have seen them a lot when I have been out fishing on my kayak and it looked like a lot of fun. I got this board and rushed over to the lake the same day. The water was still cold enough to make falling in unpleasant so I was nervous. However, the board is really stable and I soon felt comfortable paddling around the lake. The board is smooth on the water and I was impressed by how much distance I covered in a few minutes. Eventually, I put two kids on the board with me and we all stayed dry and had a great time. For me this board is the perfect entry level board since it doesn't require amazing balance or extensive experience to go out and have a good time. I also like that the board has a retractable fin so I don't have to worry about forgetting to bring it or accidentally leaving it at the lake. It is also nice that the fin can be retracted when storing or transporting the board so it isn't sticking out. The board is fairly heavy for one person to carry for a long distance and I definitely recommend having two people assist with loading it on top of the car. When putting the board in storage I have found that the shape of the board actually makes it very convenient to lay it on its side and lean it against a wall out of the way. Overall, this is a fantastic introduction to paddle boarding and I have been very impressed with this board. I have only owned the board for two weeks and I have taken it out 4 times! The Horizon is the first paddle board that my family has owned and we had an absolute blast taking it out for an evening on the pond. For first time users, it was easy and simple to use. Everyone jumped right on and took off without any troubles. The board balance well and is big enough to take a kid or two along for a ride. It was a little heavy for some family members to carry alone needing two people to transport, but I was able to manage it solo using the center carry handle. The Maximum Weight Capacity is listed at 230 pounds, but I weigh 265 and once I got myself balanced I cruised along fine with only some water splashing on my feet. I also tested it with my daughter on front upping the weight on the board to 295 and we took an enjoyable cruise around looking for fish. We found this board to be great for a large variety of users. It was great for kneeling or standing, and the foot padding areas were comfortable for either method of rowing. The Go Pro mount is also an added bonus and will be tested out later this summer at Powell. The adult SUP paddle that it came with worked great and adjusted easily for various people, but my wife who is allot shorter preferred using the youth SUP paddle with this board. The retractable fin was also nice when stacking and strapping two boards on top of each other during transport. Overall, if you are thinking about a paddle board, this is a great and fun option. And I would recommend getting two so you don't have to share! This past weekend, my family and some good friends went camping at my ranch in Smith & More house. We were shocked to see a lot of snow on the ground and the reservoir frozen over in May. Everyone was bummed because we had brought up our new Horizon paddle board and we were excited to use it. The adults quickly gave up on the idea of paddle boarding but the teenagers didn't. They walked around the frozen water until they found an area that had melted. All of the teenagers were ecstatic that they would be able to paddle board after all. The adults were concerned that the water was too cold and the teens had very little experience on paddle boards. We didn't want them falling in the water, and freezing their tails off for the rest of the trip. The teens were extremely confident in the quality of a lifetime paddle board and knew it wouldn't fail them. As you can see in the pictures, the teens were right as usual. No one got wet and everyone had a wonderful time. The board wasn't hard to carry due to handle placement. The retractable fin made the board very stable and easy to steer. It was well balanced and definitely sturdy. The paddle felt really sturdy as well and the board didn't take on any water during the voyages. I am really excited to use it myself in warmer water and I can't wait to hook up my new Go Pro Hero 4 Silver to the board's built in dock. I am very impressed with this board and I am happy to recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality paddle board at a great price. Nice job as usual Lifetime! My family and I took out the hooligan youth paddleboard and the horizon adult paddleboard. This was our first experience with paddle boards. We had so much fun on these and cannot wait to use them all summer with our family and friends! We spend a lot of time at the lake and have used many different types of water toys, I can see these quickly becoming a favorite as they can be used individually or for games together. We were able to move fairly quickly along the water and it was really nice to have the option to kneel or sit on the comfortable foam pad and leisurely paddle around. The board is great for beginners because it doesn't require too much effort and stayed really steady as we moved around getting up and down. My 7 year old was able to jump right on and go with little instruction, and we all stayed dry. The foam pads were comfortable and gave traction so we weren't slipping around. Two smaller kids can easily go on the youth paddle board and an adult and one or two kids on the adult board as long as you meet the weight ratings. We were excited to see the media mount, we will definitely be using that next time we go out! The paddles were extendable and suited me at 5'2 and my husband at 6'2. Loading onto the car was easier with two people but my husband didn't have any trouble doing it on his own either. Same with carrying the boards, definitely easier with two people because of the size of the boards but we were both able to carry them on our own using the handles. I would highly recommend these paddle boards. They are a great , low maintenance/high reward investment for anyone who enjoys being on the water! Thanks Lifetime! I have a smaller paddle board and I love it, but my recent adventure was with this paddle board and I would have to say it is now officially my favorite! Our lake is usually quite windy but it was super easy to balance on it, it cuts through the waves really well and has this smooth ride to it. Two people can fit on it and it's not a huge pain to paddle, which is nice for a younger aged child to ride on with an adult. The side handle on it makes it easy to carry even if it's 10 feet! With any board it turns back and fort easy when you paddle, so it takes practice to learn how to steer them but it's such a fun thing to do you are happy to practice everyday!
