Portable basketball hoops are a perfect option for your home or community basketball court when you do not or cannot cement a pole into your system. The benefits of portability allow you to set up a non-permanent basketball court, while still allowing you to have a stable playing basketball system. One thing to keep in mind is that although portable basketball hoops are weighted with a base in the back of the system, they are not designed to have players hang on the rim. The weight of a player hanging on the rim, especially while dunking, is frequently too much for the base to hold up, which risks serious injury to the player. If you expect players to play aggressively -like dunking and hanging on the rim - with your portable basketball hoop, please consider filling the base with sand. Sand, depending on the density you use, frequently makes the base up to 1.5 times the weight of the same base filled with water. While not eliminating the danger of tipping the basketball system, sand will be a lot more stable when players play aggressively.
