We are excited about this basketball system as it has been redesigned to last longer, look nicer, and withstand the elements better. It features a 52 inch acrylic backboard. Unlike the louder polycarbonate backboards, this solid board is much quieter and has a superior rebound. The pole leans forward for stability and includes a rebounder at the base. The large 35 gallon colored base can be filled with water or sand to maximize stability. The base also includes wheels in the front for portability. The rim includes a breakaway spring to allow slam dunking.

Whether your kids are involved actively in recreational basketball, junior high basketball, or high school basketball, this acrylic basketball system 72XX1 are perfect for outside practice. Q: s an angled basketball pole better than a vertical straight pole

A: he angled pole is no necessarily better. It is made exclusively by Huffy/Spalding and not Lifetime. Many customers feel they add stability while others feel the vertical is better. We at Competitive Edge have not not been able to tell a difference in stability. The vertical poles don't have the rebounder at the bottom where the base attaches to the pole.

A: polycarbonate and acrylic have a unique tradeoff. Polycarbonate is a material that is much stronger than acrylic and many customers choose polycarbonate for that reason. However, polycarbonate is much louder than acrylic and acrylic is unlikely to break anyway. In fact, you cannot break acrylic by playing basketball. You could break it with a slingshot, BB gun, or other high impact vandalism. Under those circumstances, polycarbonate is likely to hold up better. Acrylic is the best thing next to tempered glass

Q: ow long does assembly take?

A: assembly generally takes about three hours with two people. Spalding has a new app on the iTunes Store that assists with assembly and walks you through it. This model is not yet included, but it should be soon. The app is free, so please check to see whether they have added this model.

A: he new Hercules base has been completely redesigned to add stability, but more specifically to ensure that the basketball system arrives to your doorstep undamaged. The poles fit inside the base and allow the packaging to fit the parts in a way that is extremely unlikely to be damaged in transit. The Hercules base on most models even comes in different colors.

Q: Should I fill the Hercules base with water or sand?

A: hat is a very common question. Most people fill it up with water, but doing so requires that you keep an eye on the basketball system in extreme windy weather conditions. 75 mph could potentially tip this over along with the trampoline blowing down the street. Filling it with sand is the surest way to ensure that it will never fall over-even very unlikely in extreme micro burst whether
