Best Barn Tahoe 12' Wood Garage Kit
This 12 x 16 Best Barn shed kit is the perfect single-car garage kit with an additional loft! A beautiful traditional barn-style appeal with plenty of storage space. It provides high headroom measuring 12'9". The loft has a 4' opening provided to allow access on either end of the Tahoe's second floor. The loft also has working loft doors to provide additional access. This is the perfect DIY kit. Everything is precut except the siding and roof sheathing to save you money and time. The siding has vertical grooves that give an attractive plank look. They are primed so you can paint the color of your choice (latex acrylic paint is recommended). The siding is treated with composibor and prevents fungal decay and insect damage. The siding is manufactured with wood strands that are pressed into a resin-saturated substrate making it superior to plywood. The Best Barn wood garage components fit easily into place with no special tools or skills required. For extra strength to the trusses, metal hurricane truss hangers are provided to secure trusses to the exterior walls. All required hardware is included. The building is shown with optional windows, a cupola, shutters, and a side door. The garage, roof edge, and shingles are provided by the owner.
Wood floor is optional. The sturdy-built wood floor is easy to construct and designed specifically for your building. This floor is designed for buildings incorporating an overhead garage door. A galvanized sill plate is provided with this floor system. It comes standard with 3/4" plywood flooring and 2x4 treated floor joists spaced 12" o.c. The floor is supported with 4x4 treated runners. Nails are included. Material is not pre-cut. Floor sheathing is not treated. The floor package will be delivered, prior to your shed, by a local lumber supplier.

Note: Garage door is not included. It is designed to be provided by the owner. There are a lot of styles of garage doors and most customers prefer to match them with their home or surrounding areas.
Please note that these shipments are too large for FedEx and ups and require freight delivery on a semi-truck. The freight company will call you to set up a delivery. Someone will need to be home to sign for it. The freight company will unload it for you curbside.
Siding
The 3/8" siding is made from wood strands, pressed into a resin-saturated substrate, superior to plywood. A cedar texture is embossed into the substrate, free from knot holes and patches. It comes primed and ready for the paint color of your choice. Latex acrylic paint is recommended. It has been treated with Composibor preventing fungal decay and insect damage. The siding is backed with a 50-year limited warranty.
Loft Floor
Our Tahoe model provides an expansive 2nd level loft floor. A loft provides an ideal, out-of-the-way area for storing seasonal decorations, small boxes, chair cushions, and smaller items. Access to the loft is provided by a 4' opening in the center of the interior and also from loft doors.
Hardware
The Best Barn wood shed kit components fit easily into place with no special tools or skills required. All required hardware is included. Roof edge and shingles are provided by the owner as most customer’s want to purchase that locally to match their home.
Floor
Optional Floor: If you have an already existing level foundation, cement slab, blacktop or gravel base, the floor kit is still recommended as you do not want your siding and walls touching the ground where they can soak up water. If you don’t purchase the floor, you’ll need some sort of wooden base or material to raise the shed off the direct ground. The floor includes treated 4x4 runners, 2 x 4's for the floor joists, and ¾” plywood. Raising the foundation above the ground the 4 x 4's allow air to flow an eliminate moisture. All nails are included. The floor does require cutting and assembly and floor sheathing is not treated.
Windows
Optional Windows: Single-hung aluminum 18x27 windows provide light and ventilation. The lockable frames are durable and easy to operate. Screens limit insects, birds, leaves, etc. Window includes raised panel vinyl shutters ready to paint.
Doors
An optional walk-in entry door gives additional access.
Pre-hung 9-lite walk-in door includes aluminum threshold and lockset.
Windowless pre-hung 6-panel steel walk-in door also includes threshold and lockset.
