You’ll need some muscle

The shed turned out beautifully! I’m handy and my wife is an engineer so I thought we could handle the build ourselves. The most challenging part was creating a level spot on our property. Building the components on the ground was fairly straightforward. Luckily we have 2 muscular adult sons because raising the walls and hoisting the trusses into place was quite a production! Everything fit together well. In fact if it didn’t we knew we had done something wrong. Cuts were minimized and simple. We wished for a pneumatic nailer more than once so it was slow going and took us 4 weeks total to completely finish it. The instructions were clear for the most part but vague in a few places. We figured it out. Of course my wife had to get the “cute” add ons like windows and a cupola so a simpler shed with fewer decorative touches would’ve been easier. That said, we’re super happy with the finished result. Got 3 lawnmowers, a tractor, yard vac, power washer, spreader, weed whacker and all my yard tools out of the garage with room to spare in the lofts.

our experience

We are still in the process of putting up our barn/shed. So far it has easily gone together, and everything fits well. I would like to say how pleased I am with the customer service aspect of our purchase. They were there and helpful in making this a smooth transaction. Thank you for all you have done.

Kit shipped quickly and as scheduled. Instructions were easy to follow and only took about 2 weeks to complete single handed. I added 4 windows to the kit, which added some extra build time. Plan to add foldable ladders to the loft areas, but it’s a great kit.

Install

This is a great shed kit however, the optional floor purchased came from another vendor and several cuts had to be made prior to the install. Also, I am curious as to why the shed is not actually 10'x12' (length cuts down to 11'9). Seller Response: The 12' length is realized in the loft area. The reason the floor is shorter by 3 is that the gables sit outward of the lower walls by 1-1/2 on either end. This allows the siding to overlap the lower trim so water is prevented from entering the shed. We have a few kits with floor sizes shorter by 3

10 x 12 shed

Nice kit. A lot of the wood is twisted or warped or cracked. Cuttings were precise and impressive. Instructions are superb.

Orders for the Best Barn Kits Craftman's Cove are built to order and generally leave the warehouse within 3-5 business days, but can take longer during peak season.

Accurate Tracking: Tracking information is emailed to you after the order ships out.

Delivery Details: This product ships directly from the warehouse in Greenville, PA. This item generally ships via a curbside delivery through an LTL carrier (too big for UPS and FedEx). The customer must be present to sign for the order. The freight carrier is instructed to contact you prior to delivery to set up a delivery appointment.

Signing for the Package: When signing for the delivery it is important to note any damage. Damage is extremely rare. The products are packaged to travel both domestically and internationally. However, sometimes the packaging may be slightly damaged, but you may not be sure whether something inside is damaged. In such a case it is a good idea to sign for it and have the driver note it as such. You can still accept delivery. Call or email us with any questions.

Local Pickup Option: This item may be available for local pickup in Greenville, PA. If you are interested in picking it up locally contact our customer service for a super cheap pickup quote at 866-308-5484.
