Tough, comfy, dogs love it, but it is bulky, heavy, and takes time too assemble.
I saw Disc-O-Bed release their new Dog-Bed two weeks before a planned camping trip. My wife and I thought this would be a perfect outdoor & in-tent bed for our two small dogs. Pros: Once assembled, this Dog-Bed is sturdy! Sturdy enough to hold our two 15 lbs dogs and my 115 lbs wife; yes, she sat and laid on the bed and it held up just fine. The bed is comfortable, as both our pups and wife can attest. The mesh fabric Disc-O-Bed uses is tough and breaths well, which is great for dogs who are always hot. The shade is a nice add-on to shield the pups from heat. Cons: Assembling this Dog-Bed can be challenging. I've never owned a human sized Disc-O-Bed, but looking at the photos, they look to be easier to assemble vs the Dog-Bed. The mesh fabric has thinner nylon fabric on the head and foot of the bed that have velcro stitched in, which chew prone dogs can find and bite on. Keep an eye on your pups and correct them to not chew, eat, and tear up those flaps. Could damage walls and floors. This bed is built like a take. To get that durability, Disc-O-Bed uses heavy steel tubes. If you have hardwood floors, you'll want to lay down towels or a blanket to prevent accidental drops of the tubes and damage your floor. Particularly the open edges. Recommend padding the "feet" once assembled. The tubing has a type of durable powder coat that makes it durable, but that is the only thing separating the steel tubing sitting on your floor. Again, if you have hardwood floors, you'll want to add some sort of felt furniture feet padding or wrap it with a softer material to prevent scratches on your floor. I used gaffer's tape. Shade fabric is made from the same thin nylon fabric as mentioned above and may not stand up to long term sun exposure. But, because it's a separate fabric piece, you may be able to order a replacement from Disc-O-Bed when its time to do so. In summary, the Cons may seem much larger than the pros, but I assure you, this thing will last you a long time. Just take care your dogs do not chew at the velcro flaps or obsessively dig at the mesh fabric. This Dog-Bed has become a semi-permanent fixture in our living room that our pups, and occasionally the wife, enjoys to lay on! Review Source: Manufacturer
