Basic 10x10 Flexbow tent

Got the Basic model, outstanding product. Just back from a 4 day "road test" trip, excellent performance, stayed dry in heavy rain (seasoned prior to trip). Couple nit-picky items: door zippers stick a bit at the corners, canopy poles a bit short for me (5'11"), tie straps for rolled tent are really cheap, looks like scrap/left over taping material. None of this is a deal killer, overall workmanship of the tent is superb. Nothing like the feel, comfort and security of a quality canvas tent.

High quality and durable material. Bow flex pole set up works like a charm and is very strong when set up...use all your tent stakes to off shed water the best. Will be buying the vestibule addition soon for privacy screening.

Great tent, great price. Everything I was looking for. I'm 6'1'' and there's plenty of room. The tent was sturdy in a wind, no flapping, and had plenty of room for my large cot even with my son sharing the tent for the weekend.

Shipping Your Kodiak Canvas 10x10 Standard Tent: What to Expect

This Kodiak Canvas 10x10 Standard Flex-Bow tent ships from Salt Lake City, Utah, and includes the tent body, Flex-Bow frame, poles, awning poles, steel stakes, and storage bags. The floor liner, privacy vestibule, cover top, and ground tarp are included only when selected with the order.

Kodiak Tent Shipping and Lead Times Orders placed before 11:30 a.m. Mountain Time Monday–Friday generally ship the same business day. Orders placed after the cutoff or over the weekend ship on the next business day. Expedited shipping may be available during checkout.

Shipping Timeframe Kodiak Canvas tents and accessories generally leave the Salt Lake City warehouse the same business day when ordered in the morning. FedEx Ground delivery typically takes 1–5 business days depending on the destination.

Tracking Information Tracking information is automatically emailed after the order ships. Optional accessories may have separate tracking numbers or arrive at different times, so review all shipment notifications carefully.

FedEx Delivery This tent ships by FedEx and may not require a signature. A signature is required for addresses containing an apartment or unit number. A signature may also be requested in the order comments. Confirm the shipping address before ordering because the shipment cannot be rerouted or held at a FedEx location after it ships.

Delivery and Inspection Inspect every package when it arrives. Check the tent body, galvanized steel frame, Flex-Bow rods, upright and awning poles, 12-inch steel stakes, storage bags, sewn-in vinyl floor, doors, windows, awning, and reinforced stake loops before discarding the packaging. Also inspect every selected accessory.

Pro-Tip for Tent Delivery:

The tent and pole bags weigh approximately 35 lbs. each, allowing the shipment to be carried in two lighter sections. Arrange help if needed, and keep all original packaging until the tent and every selected accessory have been fully inspected.

Q: We have loved our deluxe Kodiak 10x10 tent, from the quick setup and take down, the heavy duty zippers, windows on all sides to catch a breeze, and its performance in heavy rains over several days to keep us completely dry . However, after several seasons of use it has begun to bear the scars of its environment. Is it possible to wash the outside this canvas tent without ruining its waterproof treatment ? I would appreciate knowing if there is a correct way to get this tent closer to its original pristine white color. Thank you in advance.

A: The tent can be sprayed down with water and wiped down, but cleaning detergents can undo the waterproofing properties. That being said, sometimes people want to clean their tent with detergents to make it look cleaner, but we don't recommend it. The tent I've been using for 10 plus years looks "broken in" and we don't mind it. Years and years of use will eventually make any canvas product look more worn or seasoned, if you will.

A: The basic does not come with a gear loft. The basic does have the o-rings to attach one though, yes. You can hang light gear to the loops - they are pretty strong.

Basically the deluxe has 4 windows versus 2, air flow vents versus none, a gear loft versus none, extra storage hanging bags, and a cinch and strap storage bag verses the duffle style the basic has.

A: This tent is super easy to set up by 1 person if you’re relatively tall. I’m 6ft and it’s super easy to make the final pieces snap in place. It does require a small bit of arm strength reaching over your head.

Q: Hello, I was told by a neighbor that the zippers on the basic are different than that of the deluxe. I wanted to verify if this was true? If so, how reliable are the zippers on the basic version? Also, is the duffel bag on the basic sufficiently sized to put the tent back in it? Some tent bags are very tight and I wanted to know if any customers have issues with putting the tent back in the bag? Thank you for your help Ram

A: yes, the deluxe tents have the YKK brand zippers. The basic models have the generic version of that zipper, but do not have any issues. The duffel bag is a generous size to easily put the tent back in. It's not an extremely tight fit like most nylon tents.

A: A) I have no idea what the question is there. There is a door on the front right and window on the front left. B) back of tent is same as front of tent, but there is no awning with a door and a window. C) Doors and windows zip up with canvas - watertight. D) We do not repair tears unless they are covered under warranty, but tears are often caused by accident by the customer - there are patch kits.

Q: My hunting buddy just received his 6051 basic... Quality product, and I can stand upright in it. I am looking at same tent with vestibule. How tall is vestibule itself? In pics it looks like awning slopes back toward tent... Also do you offer any veteran discounts? Thanks for your time Dave

Q: if this is canvas there is no reason why a stove jack could not be installed! Come on! Your so ... worried about liability! That's crazy! canvas is the material used to have a wood stove in your tent! What's wrong with you people? Pointless to buy this for 400 bucks!

A: These tents are not fire retardant and should you choose to install a stove Jack somebody could be seriously injured. I guess we care about people. That's what's wrong with us :-) there are plenty of tents out there with stove kits. I'm sure you'll find a perfect fit for your needs.

A: If you do your homework and make a stove jack properly install it properly there is no reason why a stove jack can not be used safely. You are false in saying if you install a stove jack you will be immediately burn down your tent. I have modified many , many a tent from polyester to cotton. very very rarely do you ever read or hear of tents being set on fire. To me it is such a waste to have a very nice canvas tent and not being able to have a stove jack. You are not doing justice to your fine product. It looks great. How about sending me your tent and I will install a stove jack and show you what it is all about. sound s like a deal to me. Randy N

Q: What does discounted tarp mean?

A: You can choose to purchase a discounted ground tarp for only $10. The regular price is $39. It is not absolutely necessary though. It simply makes it easier to keep the bottom of your tent clean if you are camping in a dirty or muddy area you don't have to wipe off the bottom of your tent. Instead, he let the tarp dry out and shake it off. Some customers also use it inside the tent if they are in a sandy area and they don't want to sweep out the tent after they are done. The floor included is already very heavy duty, but the ground tarp provides a little bit off added protection if you know you will be in an exceptionally rocky camp site.

Q: Is this tent strong enough to hold up in high winds? Also - could this tent be kept up all year - throughout the 4 seasons?

A: It is definitely tough enough to hold up in high winds. There is no official wind rating though. We have tested it in wind gusts up to 40 mph without any issues. In extreme winds anything can be damaged and we would recommend being cautious leaving this up in such a scenario. This is not designed to be left up all year, but is designed for camping. A: It does not have an opening for an electrical cord. Only model 6133 and 6131 have the cord slot with zipper. Kodiak tents ship quickly and depending on your location, it should arrive between 2-5 business days.

A: It worked for my family of five for several years. We then upgraded to the 10 x 14 size as we are now a family of eight. Condensation could build up inside the tent depending on the climate and if there is a drastic change in temperature, but that is definitely the exception and not the rule. This model comes with the duffle-style bag, not the strap and cinch carry bag.

Q: Summer camping ventilation: Are there side windows as well as the door window combination front and back? We own some property on our farm where we would like to set up a permanent camping site for the summer. It is in a small valley by a creek. What do you think about this particular tent for that particular circumstance. ?

A: There is one window in the front and one window in the back there is also one door in the front and one door in the back. The manufacturer does not recommend "extended use" as it is not covered under the warranty. We do get many businesses that purchase these for deluxe camping. They put them on platforms and supply all the material for their customers. They leave them up all year round and they simply replace them once they are worn out. However, most of those companies put some type of canopy-like a pop-up awning over the tent since really it is the UV rays that will eventually get the better of it. There was one on display here in Utah at Cabelas. They had it up for an entire year and it did just fine. But, the manufacturer does recommend this for camping and not extended use. Q: what is the add on vestibule ?

A: This tent includes an awning. The vestibule simply creates a wall on the far side of the awning. It gives you privacy if you want to hide your camping chairs or cooler etc.

Q: Does the basic version of the 10x10 still have the loops sewn on the inside where I could hang my own storage loft or gear compartments? Also, it says that it does not come with the premium storage bag. What are the differences between the storage bags and could I upgrade to the premium bag without upgrading the tent itself?

A: Yes, it still has to loops sewn on the inside. The premium storage back is a little bit difficult to explain, but you can see how it works in the videos. Basically, you roll up your tents and the bag is one flat sheet of canvas and you simply strap around your tent. It is impossible to upgrade without purchasing the deluxe or without purchasing the bag separately through the manufacturer's customer service department which can be reached at 801-508-2880.

Q: How does this tent do in 20 to 40 mile an hour winds?

A: It is not designed for high wind use, but having that said we have tested it up to 40 mile-per-hour gusts and it did just fine. In such a situation it is very important that every single steak is in place.

Q: How warm would you say this tent is and do you recommend bringing a heater for colder temperatures

A: Canvas does breath a bit, but if you have the windows and doors closed up, it can get pretty warm during the summer months. If heat is a problem, you can either open up both windows on the front and back of the tent to get some cross-ventilation; or, you can look at getting the 6010 Kodiak tent, which has 2 additional windows for more ventilation. This tent is not designed to have a heater in it as canvas is flammable and there is not a place in the tent design to let off the exhaust from your heating source.
