Q: Can this tent work with a fold up tonneau cover on a 2025 Tundra 5.5 ft bed

A: No, the 7218 Kodiak Canvas Truck Tent would not be the correct fit for a 2025 Toyota Tundra with the 5.5 ft. bed. The 7218 model is made for full-size trucks with an 8 ft. bed, so it would be too long for that truck bed. For a 2025 Tundra with the 5.5 ft. bed, the better Kodiak Canvas model would typically be the 7206, which is the full-size short-bed truck tent. Kodiak lists its full-size truck tents in two sizes: 7206 for shorter beds and 7218 for 8 ft. beds.

A: Installing a Kodiak Canvas Truck Tent on your 2004 Ram with an 8-foot bed and existing roll-up tonneau cover may require some adjustments, but it's often feasible without removing the tonneau rails. The standard C-clamps provided with the tent may not accommodate the added width of the tonneau cover rails. Q: Aren't there two tents that that fit the two types of full size trucks? Can you explain how I figure that out?

A: The full size truck tents are made for trucks between 61-65 inches wide. The 6ft full-size (7206) is for truck beds measuring 5.5-6.8 ft long with the tailgate up/closed. The 8ft full-size (7218) is for truck beds measuring 8 ft long with the tailgate up/closed.

A: No. Model 7218 is designed specifically for compatible full-size trucks with 8-foot beds. For many full-size trucks with shorter beds, model 7206 is the appropriate Kodiak truck tent.

A: I don't think that will work. You have to have access to the inside rails. I don't think the liner would be an issue.

A: You may need to buy larger C clamps than those provided because of the bed liner. I have a rollup tonneau cover and don't need to remove the hardware for it to raise the tent.

A: Hmm... we actually haven't done testing for the Denali. The GMC Sierra should fit either the 7206, or the 7218, and the GMC Sonoma should fit the 7211 Truck tent. If the reviews said it works with a Denali, then I would go with whatever one they suggest.

I've never had a better tent. It's been through rough thunder and ice storms without issue providing an excellent hideout from those storms. Setting it up once you determine where best to set the rails for your truck is relatively easy - better to have 2 people. You won't regret spending a little extra for this tent.

Excellent quality truck tent
Excellent QUALITY truck tent that is easy to setup in less than 30 minutes. We purchased last summer but wanted to use a few times before reviewing and we can definitely recommend. Everywhere we go other campers want to check it out and they love it - we always recommend your company.

I recently purchased this wonderful tent. Easy 30 minute set up, very pleased. Second time I set it up, the driver's side of my tailgate caused the seam to rip. No problem, one email to Kodiak, they asked for specific pics and info. Within two days they agreed to send me a replacement tent body. Amazing customer service. I will recommend Kodiak to all my friends.

Just what I was looking for.
Great canvas. Great design. No leaks. Steady in high winds. Very functional. Good headroom. Not instant up but not difficult either. Works well with a BakFlip hard folding tonneau cover on an 8' bed. Provides room for a twin size EZ Bed elevated self deploying air mattress with just enough room to spare for easy access to the whole length of the truck bed. The folded tonneau acts as a table/shelf at the cab end with ample storage underneath. Cab pass-thru window works great for running exhaust and intake hoses of the ZeroBreeze Mark 2 portable air conditioner. It fits perfectly on the folded tonneau cover. Most comfortable night's sleep in a tent I have ever had despite heavy rain.

We really enjoyed the tent, it was easy to set up and had lots of room with a eight ft bed. Our first trip was to Carpinteria Beach, It is made well and worth the price. We’re planning a trip to Kennedy Meadows in June :))

Love this tent. Used once so far looking forward to using it again.Its not to bad to set up by yourself but extra hands would be better. Seems very well made. Good material good design. Like a covered wagon. I feel confident in using this in rough weather.

Exceeded our expectations
We bought this for our Elk Season. We ended up with a foot of snow over several days and temps all the way down to single digits. The tent kept out all moisture and snow. Used a Mr. Buddy heater in there and it was perfect. Stayed warm at all times inside the tent. We cannot recommend this enough!

Couldn't be happier!
Was so excited to get this. It was delivered quickly and we put it to use right away. Great quality and well thought out. We were out in a terrible wind storm this weekend and stayed safe and comfortable! Would recommend this product to anyone. In fact we have friends that want one now.
