Giving you the rigidity of an in-ground pole with the convenience of easy removal. The basketball pole sleeve provides you with the option for later removal of your basketball system if you should move or desire to replace the system. Installation requires cement which provides the rigidity you desire. The Lifetime ground sleeve is easy to use. The unique design allows you to slide the pole into the ground sleeve and a locking tab secures it to the ground. For removal, simply unlock and slide the pole out.

Lifetime Basketball Ground Sleeve

I debated for quite a while if I should or should not utilize an in-ground sleeve for my new basketball system. Knowing that perhaps someday I may want or need to replace my basketball system, I wanted to ensure that I had an easy method to install a new basketball system without breaking apart the cement. This ground sleeve serves that purpose. If I should ever want to remove, move or replace my basketball system, I will simply be able to remove the basketball system from the in-ground sleeve. The in-ground sleeve will remain in place and a new basketball system can be installed in minutes. The in-ground sleeve was easy to install and did not add to my installation time. The directions were easy to follow. Overall a pleasant experience. I highly recommend this product for the purpose I described.

Very nice product

I would definitely use again. Made the setup easy as I was able to line this sleeve up in the hole instead of having to wrestle with a 11 pole prior to pouring the cement. Well constructed and looking forward to when I have to remove the pole in many years, that I wont have to deal with the concrete as the pole will pull out easy. Pole is very solid in the ground and doesn't move inside the sleeve. I did put clear caulk around the sleeve and the pole so rain water would not get in the sleeve. Not sure if that was necessary or not

Lifetime 0040 Basketball Soft Square Pole 4'' Ground Sleeve

Does exactly what is says it will. If you are planning on moving the goal or taking it it with you when you move this is what you need. Easy to install. I used 80 lb. bags of concrete and only needed 5 1/2 to fill the hole and 30's of concrete in the pole.

Q: Will this work with a 4x4 treated wood pole?

A: It cannot be used for the treated wooden pole or any other brand for that matter. The nominal dimensions are 4 x 4, but it is slightly different and designed specifically for the lifetime poles that are square, but have rounded corners.

A: No. Lifetime Products' 4-inch pole has rounded edges that is unique to their systems alone. The 4-inch square pole of other manufacturers will likely not fit into this ground sleeve.

A: Unfortunately, no. The ground sleeve is just a steel encasement that fits on your basketball pole like a glove. If you are using this with a pole from a portable basketball hoop, the overall pole height will be shorter once the sleeve is buried in the cement, making your rim height shorter than the regulation 10-foot height.
