Q: I purchased this item about four years ago and only decided to install it now. Instructions are clear and precise and easy to follow. The problem is the right door doesn’t fit in the right position according to the instruction. The instructions stated to place the bushings through the holes in the 2nd and 3rd floor panels. The right door will not fit in the space between the left door and the right wall. Even the hole in the 4th panel (which) is more ideal) is covered with the first wall panel (CKN). I need help desperately. Please advise.

Q: Can delivery be made to side gate instead of driveway?

A: The free delivery is curbside. The driver has a pallet jack and will often roll that as close as he can to where you need it, but there's no guarantee - they are simply required to deliver it curbside. They do call to set up a deliver appointment at which time you can ask whether that's a possibility, but I would keep in mind it may not be. Most customers just open the boxes curbside and carry an armful of panels to the backyard until the boxes are light enough to move with two people.

A: Although the lifetime sheds include a floor, the manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2x4's and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions (available to view online) show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Q: How many packages will this shed be shipped in AND what are the sizes? If I order this shed and it won't fit in my gate in the back, I do not want it it left on my lawn in the front or in the PUBLIC alley in the rear.

A: It ships on a pallet in 3 boxes. The boxes are about 220lbs and a bit too heavy for most people to lift. The freight carrier calls to set up a delivery appointment and they unload it off the truck. The free delivery is officially curbside. They do make an appointment though so you can avoid having it left in a public area. Meaning, you can haul it wherever you'd like.

A: It is 148"x90.5". See page nine on the owners manual to see how to build it. Basically you need treated lumber measuring: 2x4's that are 148" (qty 2) and 2x4's that are 8' long (qty 11). 44 nails 16d and 3.5" Plywood that's 48"x93.5" qty 3 and 1 small piece 4"x93.5" qty 1

A: The foot print is 93.5 inches x 148 inches not 90.5 x 148 in the previous answer and the plywood is not 3.5 inches it is 3/4 inches x 48 x 93.5 meaning it is three quarter inches thick by 48 inches wide by 93.5 inches long

A: The extreme weather kit will not work with this shed since the entrance is not on the 8 side. If you live in extreme conditions then I recommend one of the 8x10 sheds since more of those are compatible with the extreme weather and snow load kits.

A: It arrives in three cartons weighing about 616 pounds. There is a fourth box which is the promotional shelf kit if you choose that promotion. The larger boxes each weigh close to 200 pounds. A: The shed comes in 2 packages, and a 3rd, if you asked for the additional 3 shelves. It can be left out in the weather, it won’t hurt the pieces, but the boxes will, of course, come apart, and you will have to transport it piece by piece to where you want it installed. Best to make sure you have it placed where you want it installed. Each box weighs close to 300 lbs. They measure about 8x2x2. If you ordered extra shelves, that is a 3rd box, make sure you receive that. I have installed my shed. I had to call to have the 3 extra shelves delivered. They did not come with the first delivery. I am still waiting for them. Not sure why they offer that if they’re not going to send it.

A: The lifetime sheds are double-walled, but they are not considered insulated like a wooden shed with studs and physical insulation.

We have also found that customers are far more successful at getting more competitive local assembly/installation rates if you join a local facebook classifieds group and create a post like, "Looking for a licensed and insured handyman to assembly my ......." You are likely to get several competitive bids eliminating the middle man. We currently do not have any promos on this shed.

Q: What is the material of the shed? Does it need to sit on concrete? How high is it at it's tallest?

A: The manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2x4's and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Q: Is there anyway to secure the shed to a concrete foundation? What is the weight of the shed?

A: The shed weighs approximately 613 pounds. It will be shipped ltl (on a semi trailer) They will call you to set up the appointment for a curbside delivery. It will come in several boxes which can be carried separately, or opened and carried separately. It is not necessary to anchor the shed to the foundation, but if you would like to I would recommend contacting the Customer service team at 1-800-225-3865.

Q: Could this shed hold bikes?

A: Yes, it will hold bikes. The average adult bike is 68 in long, which is a little less than 6 ft. This shed is 8 ft so it will store bikes without issue.

Awesome Lifetime Shed
Just finished building this shed and I’m very impressed. I installed it over a raised deck style platform with concrete footings. Laid sheets of plywood over 2x6 joists. Shed went up with little trouble, but it took a long time. I would say plan to spend 1-2 days on your foundation and another 2 days on your shed install. Lifetime 12' storage shed
The shed was fairly easy to assemble. Good directions and video. Could do most of it by myself, but had a little help on the ceiling and walls. Couldn't get the door slide lock to quite line up, but an easy fix with a longer bolt and a couple of washers for spacers.

Nice Shed
I purchased this shed about a year ago. I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this one. I'm quite happy with my purchase and it seems like the shed will last for many years. I also received some great customer support through Competitive Edge and Lifetime to fix an issue with my floor panels (more details below). The shed has a few fit and finish issues, but I think that's to be expected at the price point. I think my actual rating would be something like a 4.5, but I'm rounding up to 5 to help boost its visibility. The shed has performed well for me. I'm using it as expanded storage for tools, bikes, camping gear, pool supplies, etc. I like that I can get in and out of the shed without hitting my head (I'm 5'10") and that it has double-doors to help with larger items. I find the ground-level shed to be very convenient storage space for anything heavy or that I access on a regular basis for yardwork or pool maintenance. The shed has held up to some pretty windy days (60 mph gusts), a rainy winter, and the typical dry heat (up to 110 deg F) in the summer. It doesn't freeze or snow where I live so I can't attest to the shed's performance in that weather. I unpacked and organized everything before starting. I found that I had duplicates of the two end floor panels and only 1 of 3 of the "interior" floor panels. I contacted Competitive Edge customer support, who forwarded my request to Lifetime customer support. Lifetime shipped me the correct floor pieces. It only took a single email from me to trigger this support. I received the pieces I needed in about a week. As a personal challenge, I managed to build the entire shed by myself without any major issues. It definitely would have gone faster and been less sketchy with another person though (I was holding support beams in place with my head while screwing them together at times). It took me about 12-16 hours in total (including unpacking and cleanup. The assembly instructions are good, so you just need one person who can understand and follow the instructions well. The other person's main function would be another set of hands to hold panels and support beams in place during assembly in a few key steps. I already had a concrete pad on the side of my house that fit this, so I had to do minimal area prep. I decided to go with Tapcon screws to hold the floor down to the concrete pad.

Good customer service
I received the shed in a timely manner but it was missing some parts. This was disturbing because I had hired someone to put the shed together and they were unable to do so because of the missing parts. I called customer service and after a medium wait for someone to answer the customer service representative I dealt with was professional and ordered the parts that I needed and I have received notice that they have shipped and will be delivered in a timely manner.
