Lifetime 12.5x8 Storage Shed 60223 Garden Building

The shed was fairly easy to assemble. Good directions and video. Could do most of it by myself, but had a little help on the ceiling and walls. Couldn't get the door slide lock to quite line up, but an easy fix with a longer bolt and a couple of washers for spacers.

I purchased this shed about a year ago. I did quite a bit of research before deciding on this one. I'm quite happy with my purchase and it seems like the shed will last for many years. I also received some great customer support through Competitive Edge and Lifetime to fix an issue with my floor panels (more details below). The shed has a few fit and finish issues, but I think that's to be expected at the price point. I think my actual rating would be something like a 4.5, but I'm rounding up to 5 to help boost its visibility. The shed has performed well for me. I'm using it as expanded storage for tools, bikes, camping gear, pool supplies, etc. I like that I can get in and out of the shed without hitting my head (I'm 5'10") and that it has double-doors to help with larger items. I find the ground-level shed to be very convenient storage space for anything heavy or that I access on a regular basis for yardwork or pool maintenance. The shed has held up to some pretty windy days (60 mph gusts), a rainy winter, and the typical dry heat (up to 110 deg F) in the summer. It doesn't freeze or snow where I live so I can't attest to the shed's performance in that weather. I unpacked and organized everything before starting. I found that I had duplicates of the two end floor panels and only 1 of 3 of the "interior" floor panels. I contacted Competitive Edge customer support, who forwarded my request to Lifetime customer support. Lifetime shipped me the correct floor pieces. It only took a single email from me to trigger this support. I received the pieces I needed in about a week. As a personal challenge, I managed to build the entire shed by myself without any major issues. It definitely would have gone faster and been less sketchy with another person though (I was holding support beams in place with my head while screwing them together at times). It took me about 12-16 hours in total (including unpacking and cleanup. The assembly instructions are good, so you just need one person who can understand and follow the instructions well. The other person's main function would be another set of hands to hold panels and support beams in place during assembly in a few key steps. I already had a concrete pad on the side of my house that fit this, so I had to do minimal area prep. I decided to go with Tapcon screws to hold the floor down to the concrete pad.

After building the platform (we did pressure treated lumber), this was a 2 day weekend project to set up. Instructions are lengthy, and you must follow them precisely. It is sturdy and attractive, fits all our lawn equipment easily including a ride on mower.

Aside from the shipping delay this shed went together without too many issues. Directions need to be followed closely and are well laid out. My two adult daughters and I put it up in two days. Looks great!

We have bought this company product before and were very satisfied with the quality for what we intended to use it for. This item purchased this time did not disappoint. Competitive Edge had a great price for the item and we thank them for offering it. Lifetime Storage Sheds are not "top of the line" sheds but they are a much better quality plastic compared to other "plastic" companies I've tried (ie: garden boxes, etc). We are very happy with this shed. It IS a little challenging to put together - the instructions were a little difficult to follow at times... and parts of the floor was not explained so we had put them in opposite where they were supposed to go. The roof vents are not that easy to get in either - quite a bit of "over the head reaching x 2 adults". It's going to be a great pool shed though.

really love this building we set it on a wood platform and it really needs to be level the only complaint I have is with the three small shelves they are a little short tried every angle and slot was able to connect one side and the front part on the other side made it work any way still I will give a five star

I decided to pour a cement base so cannot comment on a wood base. The unit is solidly made and there were no missing parts. Definitely took two people to put it up. The instructions took some time to figure out each step but by careful reading, the assembly only took 9 hours to put together. A professional installer probably could do it in half the time.

This shed is designed for 2 adults to install over a weekend, but I was able to install it by myself over 2 days. Make sure to really check the level of the foundation as that will play a role in piecing the walls, floor and roof. Also, READ INSTRUCTIONS. I skipped ahead one step assuming the logical next move, and it made it very difficult. After figuring out my mistake, everything else went smooth. Power tools help in some steps, but be ready to have a decent ratchet screwdriver to help with hand connecting most of the pieces. If you're a stubborn weekend warrior, you got this. If not, maybe hire a few people. ALSO, there were some shipping issues with my unit, but Competitive Edge was really good about helping me out and worked with the manufacturer to source a replacement while my unit was lost in transit. Luckily I didn't need it. I'd never heard of this company, just seem to be the best price and have what I needed, but I will definitely buy from again. I did go for the 3- shelf bonus, but probably would've done the discount if I were to do it again as the shed comes with 2 long shelves, a bunch of wall hangers, and even a door organizer.
