Steel-Framed Shatterproof Backboard and an orange steel Slam-It Pro® Rim. The polycarbonate playing surface gives you the look and play of pro-style glass and has UV-protected, fade-resistant graphics. The Slam-It Pro® Rim is built for aggressive play with 18-Inch rim and double horizontal springs that provide great flexibility. Replacement

I ordered this as a replacement for a 44' backboard. I saw no reason to replace a perfectly good base and pole and have to dispose of the old one. It came very quickly. It was easily put together. My 12 year old helped me briefly, otherwise, was a one person job. Fit perfectly with my existing base and pole. was well worth going up to the 50'. Kids love it

Replacement Backboard and Rim

Needed a replacement for a portable Lifetime backboard mounted on a round pole, and this one seemed to be a good value and meet the specs. Setup was easy, and even as a larger backboard (had a 44 inch prior) the universal system of mounting that lifetime has (we have an adjustable height mount) was adapted to this new backboard. The steel frame really adds to stability and it is really an excellent product, about the best you can get for the price. It was not only a good value as opposed to buying an entirely new system, but an upgrade. I would highly recommend this product to anyone. Shipping was fast and reliable and Competitive Edge provided a great product and great service.

Replacement backboard

Bought as a replacement for broken backboard.Fairly easy to install with second person.compatible with old framing.loud Bang/Bong when ball hits backboard, tried to deaden the sound but to no avail. other then that it does the job I need it to.back yard play.

Good for backyard play

We wanted the 54 inch, but did not like the black box in the middle so settled for the smaller 50 inch. It is kind of small especially on the 10 foot high setting, but the extra 4 inches probably would not make much difference. You would have to go to a 66-70 inch backboard to have a regulation look but then you are talking $1000 and up so for the money this is a great backboard. I would highly recommend spending the extra $50 or so to get a 48-54 inch backboard and not settle for the 44 inch. Does not have the bounce of a true glass backboard, but is sufficient for backyard play. Instructions say 2 people can put it up and my friend and I did on 2 tall ladders with great difficulty. I highly recommend a third person (1 to hold each side and the 3rd to screw in place)

A: This 100 percent will not work with a Spalding system. It only works with Lifetime systems and not all lifetime systems.

A: Yes, this 79910 lifetime backboard can be mounted to a wall and is still adjustable as long as you get the brackets model 1044.

A: Great question. It can be mounted to a wall, yes, but not flush. The brackets that are fixed stick out about 8". It's a very heavy duty brackets, model 9594.

Q: I have the lifetime adjustable system for the Reebok 599771. I was told that 59971 is no longer available and I should consider 71525. I only need the backboard and rim. I still have the pole and adjustable bracket system made by lifetime. Which backboard/ rim will work as a replacement for my existing pole?

A: Basketball Compatibility
First: Is the system made by Lifetime?
Second: Is the pole round?
Third: Is the pole diameter 3.5-inches?
Fourth: Is there a Y-Shaped bracket where the mounting arms mount to the pole?
If you can answer yes to all of these, than any Lifetime backboard and rim combo we sell will work with your hoop. If you answer no to any of these, than the backboards we sell will definitely not work with your system, and you will need to call 1-800-225-3865 to get the backboard you need. Here are our Basketball Backboards, and that say lifetime on them will work if you can say yes to all the above questions.

Q: Is there a mounting bracket for this system that attach to a squat pole?

A: What's a squat pole? Do you mean square pole maybe? There is no bracket that attaches this to a square pole. There is a bracket that amounted to a 3.5 inch round pole. In fact, there's two. One is adjustable and is model number 1044 and the other is fixed height and is model number 9594.

Q: I have a 48"x33" with a 1 1/2" frame that is about 15 years old. It is in ground and about 3 3/4" square pole. It has the manual shock for the height adjustment. I think this will work as a replacement, is that correct? Thanks, Joe

A: This basketball Backboard does not include a Mounting Bracket. You will need a mounting bracket to attach to a pole. The brackets sold can only attach to a 3.5" round pole. Unfortunately we do not ship to Hawaii, you would need to ship to somewhere in the continental US and then find a way to get it to you from there.

A: It is not available in 72 inches. The largest lifetime make separately is 54 inches and it is model 71526. If you need a 72 inch backboard we do carry them bundled with the brackets and you can search our website for this model GS72GA.
