Great investment

I waited so long for this shed and was not disappointed. I had a cement slab poured for the base and hired 2 men to put it up. It’s well constructed. It’s a beautiful addition to my yard. It took the 2 of them about 8 hours to complete. It’s held up well to this horrendous winter in RI. It was installed in the fall when it was starting to get cold so I have a bunch of landscaping to do when the weather warms up. I love this shed and would highly recommend it.

I'm very pleased with this shed, and I'm even more pleased with Competitive Edge Products Inc. (CEP)'s customer service. We saw a great deal on CEP but wavered on buying it for too long, and it was sold out. CEP chatted with us online extensively to allow us to understand how much time remained in the promotional period, and we were able to get a quote and lock in the promotional price for a month. Later, when it became available, the shipping company failed to call us to schedule delivery ahead of time, with the driver only calling when he was about 20 minutes away. When we told him we weren't able to receive it on such short notice and asked if he could drop it off in our backyard, he said he couldn't do that and would bring it back to the warehouse and arrange another delivery date. Instead, he marked us down as "refused delivery" and returned it to the warehouse, which prepared to ship it back to CEP. When I called a few days later to follow up and see what the delay was, they told me they had sent it back. I called CEP, who told me it had not been shipped yet, and they worked with the shipper to arrange an appropriate delivery. The shipping company then delivered it but left behind the additional shelving pack we had received as part of the promotion. Once again, CEP worked with the shipping company to locate the package and ensure its delivery. While I would separately rate the shipping company very poorly, CEP gets 5 stars from me and high praise. They really took care of our order from initial contact through final delivery. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would!

15X8 Lifetime Garden Shed

Shed was delivered timely. My husband and I had no issues putting it together. Does take some time so read the directions. Final product is way better than the pictures.

I'm happy with the finished product. A lot of struggles with parts and identifications. Probably have over $200. worth of extra parts that don't even go to this shed. Extra shudders, 4 pairs of door handles, at least ten bags of extra hardware. Not sure the company can stay in business if they keep giving out all this free stuff

A: Here's how the doors work on the lifetime sheds. If you've got a set of double doors (one on the long end and one on the short end) you can place them on either side as long as you keep one on a long end and the other on a short end. Meaning, you can't place both on short ends and can't place both on long ends.

Q: Is there a way to secure this to a concrete slab? Worried about wind if I don't.

A: Anchoring a Lifetime Shed is the last step in the instruction manual. Around the perimeter of the floor are places where you can optionally place anchors for a concrete slab or wooden base. For a concrete platform, we recommend using a hammer drill, 5/16" (8 mm) masonry bit, for concrete screws measuring 3/8" x 2" (10 mm x 5 cm) and Fender washers to go with those screws measuring 3/8" x 1" (10 mm x 2,5 cm) Fender Washers. Do not exceed a 3/8” diameter screw. Refer to your local hardware store for this hardware. For a wood-framed platform, we recommend using a drill, 5/16" (8 mm) drill bit, Lag Screws measuring 3/8" x 1 1/2" (10 mm x 4 cm) along with Fender Washers that are 3/8" x 1" (10 mm x 2,5 cm). Do not exceed a 3/8" diameter screw. Refer to your local hardware store for this hardware.

A: Although the lifetime sheds include a floor, the manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2x4's and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions (available to view online) show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

A: The newer shed extension kit you'll want is either 60169 (includes a window) or 60142 (without a window). These two models include the newer wood-grain floor pattern. They are 2.5' per extension and you can extend the shed up to 20'.

Q: Looking at the pictures I see three entrances. Is that correct?

A: Just 2 entrances (dual). It's a matter of where the doors are placed in the various photos that might be causing the question. Here's how the doors work on the lifetime sheds. Q: Can the second (side) entry be placed on either end of the shed?

A: You can place the door that's on the 8' side on either of the 8' sides. Same goes for the door on the 15' side. But, one door must be on either 8' side and one door must be on either 15' side.

Q: Are there insulation kits sold for your sheds, specifically 60079? I will be ordering the snow reinforcement kit just to be safe, I would also like to keep the inside was warm as theoretically possible. If you do not sell kits from the factory, will adding any kind of insulation(foam panels or otherwise) void the warranty?

A: There is not a good way to insulate the Lifetime sheds, however, the Best Barn Wooden Sheds are highly customizable and easier to insulate.

A: It cannot I'm sorry to say. The official colors of this shed are desert tan (like Almond) walls with a gray roof and gray doors (the grey is more like Putty - a brownish gray).

Q: On model 60001 or 60005 why your website describes it as 8'X10'? It is very confusing. It should be described as 10'X8' and NOT 8'X10'. These models have 10 ft width and 8 ft deep. Immediately after your description of 8'X10' the Lifetime's actual description pops up as 10'X8'. I had to keep crosschecking between Lifetime's website to make sure that I was ordering a model which is 10 ft wide and 8 feet depth which both 60001 and 60005 are and NOT ordering anything which is 8 ft wide and 10 ft deep which is a completely different description.

A: That's a very good question. In the industry you generally use the first dimension where the door is. So the 60005 has the door on the 10' side so it's considered a 10x8. The 60001 has a door on both the 10 and the 8 foot sides so it can be considered either an 8x10 or 10x8.

A: The expansion kit allows you to expand the size of the storage shed. It starts out 15 x 8, but you can expanded in increments of 2.5 feet and that's with this expansion kit does. A: The manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2x4's and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Q: I live in a mobile home park Will this be able to be delivered there?

A: Due to the size of these items, they ship ltl (on a semi trailer). Shipping typically takes between 1-7 business days depending on your location. The shipping carrier will call you to set up an appointment for a curbside delivery. If the road is wide enough for a semi trailer to drive on, then it should work, otherwise they may have to deliver outside the park. If this is the case we would recommend having friends help you bring the boxes over, or opening them up and bringing them a few parts at a time. It may also be easier to meet them outside the park and load the boxes onto your car and then drive them into the park yourself.

Please contact your local city office building and they should be able to but you know what the requirements are and whether you need to have a permit. Some places do not require a permit on these storage sheds since there are no nails and they can be disassembled as easily as they are assembled-in other words, they consider them "non permanent". A: They have steel reinforcements so they are comparable. But, a wooden shed can generally be customized to accommodate multiple locks. The shed cannot-there is only one padlock loop.

Q: If we wanted to store a couch inside are the seams between sections and between walls and floor well sealed so water can't get in and so the things inside don't get moldy?

A: Yes, you will not get water inside, but there are storms capable of getting water inside a structure depending on the wind speed in the amount of water. For example, several inches of standing water could get into any shed where the wall and the floor connect. Also, it has airflow vents to prevent condensation, but that also means that it is exposed to temperatures and humidity of the exterior to some degree. I hope that is helpful. A: We don't do assembly. We simply sell the storage shed and ship it to you. Most customers choose to assemble it themselves. Sometimes customers will simply hire out the base for the concrete slab-whichever you choose.

Q: What are the tolerances for level? Is a very slight grade change permitted?

A: Officially, the recommendation from the manufacturer is that it be on level/flat brown. Many customers do put it in the driveway that is sloping slightly and have no issues.

Q: How do you anchor to ground if you don't have cement?

A: Yes, you can anchor it to a concrete slab. The anchors are sold separately, provided by the customer. On the interior there are locations on the floor near the wall where you anchor it to the ground.

Q: 0N THE 8’ BY 15’ SHED CAN THE CENTER DOORS BE PLACED ON THE OTHER END SO THAT THERE ARE TWO SETS OF DOUBLE DOORS WITH ONE SET ON EACH END?

A: Unfortunately, no. One set of doors must be on the 8-foot side and one set on the 15-foot side.

Q: Hi, I poured a cement pad that is 7 x 15 feet. I would like your input on how to make this shed work since it's not an 8x15 pad. Can I have one foot overhanging and onto my lawn? Should I put some gravel down there to make it 8'?
