These kayaks are sturdy and easy to enjoy. I can fit one inside my Ford Escape with the back seat down. 38 lbs make loading and hauling a snap...and I'm in my mid-sixties.

I only have one Daylite kayak. I bought an orange one. Due to that product not available online I elected to review this one since it is the most similar to my orange Daylite kayak. I love mine. It is the perfect thing to throw in the back of the truck when I go to the lake or the river. I don't feel the need to say how much I weigh but I am a big guy. . . I'm six foot five and overweight. This kayak has a weight limit, and I may or may not exceed that limit but it handled my size just fine. The only con or negative aspect about the Daylite series is the fact that it only has one t handle. I bought an additional one to put on the back to that it is easier to move around and carry without dragging it. We bought 3 Daylite Kayaks about 4 years ago. We have had so much fun on them at our Family cabin on Bear Lake, Utah. Everyone from age 6 to 65 have taken them out. I bought this kayak last Summer after using my father in-laws at the beach for 3 years in a row. I love to take it out on the lake and explore. Very stable and so easy to transport. It fits into my mini van with no problems and light enough for me to carry by myself (even came with carrying strap if you need it). I took it out the second day after I bought it. Tracked straight in a slight breeze, easy to paddle. The carrying handle is centered making it easy to transport to the water. The seat for me is comfortable, I would like a hole under my seat to drain water. Takes my breath away. . : ) The most awesome thing about it, is being able to get on it without tipping over. I weigh 205 and stand 6'2'. After getting off and back on several times, I recommend this to beginner to advanced. The fishing pole holder hole would be fun to modify for anyone who likes to video their trips. A small mount inserted in the hole to attach the water proof camera and paddle away. A small sail can be added, but it's not a sail boat. I didn't know a sail was an accessory, but after I did find out I wasn't sure if I would want one. We bought one of these and tried it out in the pool and went back the next day to buy 2 more. We got a chance to take them out on the river this weekend. We got these so we can poke around lakes and watch birds and animals. This is NOT a serious kayak, but it's a heck of a lot of fun. My husband is 6'3 200 pounds and we both fit very comfortably in our kayaks. They are very easy to paddle, but don't skim through the water as quickly as a traditional kayak. They are wider and have a very flat bottom, and don't seem to have the same grip on the water. The advantage to this is that they are VERY stable - I was able to haul my 50 lb dog out of the lake and onto the kayak every time she decided she didn't want to swim anymore. When she jumped back into the water, it hardly rocked the kayak. We got these because they actually fit INSIDE our GMC Acadia SUV. We can put two of them inside, which saves on gas mileage. For camping, they fit INSIDE our tiny (18 foot) travel trailer. Another selling point is that they are MADE IN THE U. S. A. Yeah! Our kayaks came with a small triangular sail that is really fun! We flew along with just a bit of wind. Using the oar as a rudder gives you complete control. I wasn't able to tack back and forth against the wind. I'm sure that I don't have the skill to do that yet, but I think it would be difficult with this kayak because of the extremely flat bottom. We were easily able to row upstream on a very gentle river. It seems to be well suited for either going downstream, or paddling around a lake. That's all we want to do anyway. The seat back has a cap at the rear so you can use it for watertight storage. It would probably hold a wind breaker or your lunch. It also has a good sized storage area with elastic cords behind the seat. It holds up to 250 pounds, so you could carry quite a bit with you. It has a built in cup holder, a fishing pole holder, and a rest for the oars. If you want a fun boat to play around with, this is perfect. (Originally Posted on the Yellow Model)
