Q: I will be installing this on my driveway, which is flat pavement. Would that work for a foundation? Or do I still need to put down a concrete slab. Also, is it necessary to anchor the shed to the driveway or can it just be placed on top?

A: Although the lifetime sheds include a floor, the manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2x4's and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions (available to view online) show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

A: Here's how the doors work on the lifetime sheds. If you've got a set of double doors (one on the long end and one on the short end) you can place them on either side as long as you keep one on a long end and the other on a short end. Meaning, you can't place both on short ends and can't place both on long ends.

Q: Do you have the 8x12.5 shed with dual doors and the skylights in stock?

A: There isn't dual entry model that is 8 x 12.5 to my knowledge, but there is an 8 x 10 model (60001) and there is an 8 x 15 model (60079). During this pandemic manufacturing has suspended manufacturing the 2.5 foot extensions. Otherwise, you could get the 8 x 10 and simply add a 2.5 extension, but those will be produced probably until the fall of 2021.

Q: Can model #60001 be set up without the floor in order to be used as a pool pump house? Part of the floor would be concrete (where the pump and pipes are) and the additional wall support would be treated 4x4s with rebar going into the ground to anchor it.

A: Some people set it up and cut out a portion of the floor. It does void the warranty, but people have done that for pump houses. The walls are attached to the floor so it does need a portion of the floor for the integrity of the shed itself.

A: Those are manufactured on a frequent basis. The next couple batches have already been pre-ordered, so if you order now yours should ship with the batch after that. If you order now yours should ship within 3-4 weeks. If you wait to order, then it will ship approximately 3-4 weeks from when you do order. once it ships it typically takes 3-7 business days to receive depending on your location.

Q: Can the 8 by 10 dual entrance, 60001 be expanded and how much would the kit cost. We just want the minimal 2 or 2.5 feet whichever it is?

A: Yes, it can be expanded. There are two extension kit options. The first does not have a window and is model 60142. It does have a skylight. The second option is 60169 and it has a window, but no large bubble skylight. Both are 2.5 foot extenders. They extend the 10' length. So, one kit makes your total shed size 8x12.5. Keep in mind that the door on the 12.5 foot side will no longer be centered unless you add two expansion kits.

A: The panels are interchangeable, so you could put the door on either side, as long as you have one set of doors on the long side, and 1 set of doors on the short side. We would recommend hiring a handyman, or contacting the manufacturer for advise on putting the door on a different part.

A: Yes, the 12.5 foot option is also a dual entry shed with the door on the short side in the door on the long side. Just keep in mind that the door cannot be centered when the shed is 12.5 feet. Q: How wide and long do I need to make the base if I'm doing a wooden base option? What about concrete?

A: If you are doing a concrete slab you will want to make the dimensions of the slab 118 1/4 inches long/deep x 93 1/2 inches wide. If you are building a wooden base you will want to build the platform to be 118 1/4 inches long/deep x 93 1/2 inches wide (the same dimensions as concrete).

Sturdy and easy to assemble
Straightforward instructions... definitely need 2-3 people during some steps. Took about 10-12 hrs to build wooden platform and assemble shed with a friend. Review Source: Manufacturer

Very satisfied
We got ours 95% completed yesterday. All we lack is securing it to the foundation and adjusting the doors. I think I'm going to be very happy with this building - as long as we can get the doors aligned properly (see below). We found a few mistakes or potential improvements in the instructions that we are going to provide to Lifetime. The assembly went pretty much as I thought it would. Pace yourself. Take your time. Review the instructions for general familiarity before you start, then read the instructions for each step before beginning that step. Make sure you understand what you are about to do. If not, re-read the instructions. For almost all screws I used a power drill on a low clutch setting, then used the variable speed trigger to insert each screw very slowly. I had maybe two that stripped or spun without ever "catching," but I think these were my fault for accidentally using more speed. If you're not pretty good handling a power screwdriver then stick with a regular screwdriver. Most of the screws don't take many turns to tighten.

Went together good with 2 people, the book was better than the video, very happy the shed looks and turned out, also the neighbors are pleased the way it looks.

Love it!
Let me start by saying I didn't want this shed! But when code enforcement told me the one I was building had to go, I had to start looking for one. They said 10x10 or smaller and plastic! (I thought no way...) I finally settled on this 8x10 Lifetime double door, shed. Hint* follow the directions! Mark all your pole's and beams with the right code before you start, this greatly helps! And finally, if you do find you messed up a step, go back and fix it even if you have to unassemble something's you just attached. Each part has a specific purpose, so stay on it till you figure it out. That being said... Me and a friend put this together and had a blast doing it. It's a lot more sturdy than you would think after its assembled. So don't get discouraged when you first open the box. And have fun! ( the fun continues when you start to accessorize, and decorate around it! I love mine, and I use it as a man cave! Now I want to replace my metal storage shed with another Lifetime shed.
