8x20 Shed For Workshop

Overall happy with results. I assembled the shed including site wood frame foundation in one week by one person using clamps as extra helpers. Hardest part was lifting and sliding the 20' long skylight onto the roof. I wish the manual included helpful hints about what not to do as well as what to do. The video was quite helpful. I wish the manual's diagrams were larger especially when detailing the parts. One issue learned is that plastic expands when warm or hot so door alignment in the hot afternoon is quite different than cooler mornings and evenings.

Impressed With The Design

Packaged well. Had to read some instruction sections more than once but everything went together as stated. End product looks good and seems robust. Plan at least a weekend to build and a level foundation is very important.

Instructions should be clearer with better pictures & some things are not specific in the pictures. It’s together & will enjoy for many years! Compliments from the neighbors & one is seriously considering getting one! Highly recommend! Oh! Video on YouTube is old! Not helpful!

Accurate Tracking: Tracking information is automatically emailed to you just as soon as the order ships out.
Delivery Details: This product ships directly from Lifetime Products in Clearfield, UT. Delivery of this product is via a curbside delivery through an LTL carrier (too big for UPS and FedEx). The customer may be required to be present to sign for the order. The freight carrier is instructed to contact you prior to delivery to set up a delivery appointment. The carrier will unload the product by means of a lift gate. In some cases items may be too large to fit on the lift gate and may require assistance from the customer helping unload box-by-box (takes only a few minutes). The product comes in 3 boxes: Box 1 - 300 lbs, 95"x32"x12" Box 2 - 295 lbs, 96"x32"x14.25" Box 3 - 277 lbs, 96"x32"x14.38."

A: You can't extend the 20' shed beyond 20' any longer as it voids the warranty and Lifetime doesn't offer expansion kits any longer on their sheds.

A: Short answer, no they don't come in 10x20. Long answer, Lifetime doesn't make a 10' wide shed. There's an 11x21 - that's the closest to 10x20. Please search our site for 60237 to see it.

A: These are designed to be built by the customer, but you are welcome to hire someone to build it for you. We don't do installation ourselves, but you can call 800-336-3865x1 to be set up with an assembly company in your area, we also have a list of recommended installers: https://www.competitiveedgeproducts.com/assembly-and-installation-services.html Or you can find a local handyman through mobile apps like: Takl, Angieslist, and HomeAdvisor. We have also found that customers are far more successful at getting more competitive local assembly/installation rates if you join a local Facebook classifieds group and create a post like, "Looking for a licensed and insured handyman to assemble my ......." You are likely to get several competitive bids eliminating the middle man. You can also use the BILT app which has 3-dimensional instructions for many Lifetime items.

A: Doors can't be removed, though we do have a model without the double doors. The 60120 8x20 shed only has 1 entrance on the 8' side.

A: We don't provide installation on any of our items. Most customers assemble these items themselves (and the owner's manual is available if you'd like to take a look at it). If you do hire out assembly, we recommend using the app/website called Thumbtack. It connects you with local installers. You type in what you're looking for an it will give you a price. We are not affiliated with them, but I personally used have used it and highly recommend it based off of customer's feedback. Q: We recently purchased the Lifetime Model 60127 which, as shown in your advertisement has dark brown roof & doors and sand (beige) side walls. The first time we received it was black or dark gray roof and gray siding. They took it back saying they sent the wrong shed but we received the second one, it was the same GRAY shed and it is in the process of being returned. A: Colors are very subjective as there are many shades of brown and beige and gray blends in with brown at some point. If you received a shed and the model on the box said 60127, then that is the only color you'll find for 60127.

Q: I plan to purchase this storage shed very soon. I will have a concrete base, what are the dimensions for the anchors for a cement slab?

A: Anchoring a Lifetime Shed is the last step in the instruction manual. Around the perimeter of the floor are places where you can optionally place anchors for a concrete slab or wooden base. For a concrete platform, we recommend using a hammer drill, 5/16" (8 mm) masonry bit, for concrete screws measuring 3/8" x 2" (10 mm x 5 cm) and Fender washers to go with those screws measuring 3/8" x 1" (10 mm x 2,5 cm) Fender Washers. Do not exceed a 3/8” diameter screw. Refer to your local hardware store for this hardware. For a wood-framed platform, we recommend using a drill, 5/16" (8 mm) drill bit, Lag Screws measuring 3/8" x 1 1/2" (10 mm x 4 cm) along with Fender Washers that are 3/8" x 1" (10 mm x 2,5 cm). Do not exceed a 3/8" diameter screw. Refer to your local hardware store for this hardware.

A: Although the lifetime sheds include a floor, the manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2x4's and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions (available to view online) show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Q: Is it possible to put the double doors on the left end instead of the right ? Thx Bob

A: Here's how the doors work on the lifetime sheds. If you've got a set of double doors (one on the long end and one on the short end) you can place them on either side as long as you keep one on a long end and the other on a short end. Meaning, you can't place both on short ends and can't place both on long ends.

A: Due to the size of these items, they ship ltl (on a semi trailer). Shipping typically takes between 3-7 business days depending on your location. Q: Can you anchor the shed directly to a concrete slab without using the plastic flooring it comes with?

A: For this particular shed 60127 you will need to purchase the hardware to anchor it to concrete. Please see page 93 on the owners manual link. You will need a hammer drill with a 5/16 masonry bit. You need 16 3/8x2 concrete screws along with 16 washers that are 3/8x1 it anchors to the floor around the perimeter and there are templates that make it obvious where you put them once everything is erected.

Q: Can the doors/windows be installed on either side?

A: Yes, you can put the doors on either side. It is important to know that one set up doors must be placed on the 8 foot side and the other door must be placed on a 20 foot side, but you can choose whether to put it on the left, right, front, or back. The widows can go on the front or back as well. The panels are 30 inches in the window simply come embedded in the 30 inch panels.

A: The manufacturer recommends placing the shed on a flat structure such as a wooden foundation made of treated 2 x 4’s and OSB board that you can pick up from your local home improvement store. The instructions show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. Some customers put it on cinder blocks, pea gravel, or other flat structures. The important thing is to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn’t flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly.

A: Extending the shed beyond 20 feet voids the warranty. Having that said, yes, the 8' extension kits are compatible and are models 60142 and 60169 (includes a window).

A: Yes, the panels are interchangeable, so as long as you have 1 set of doors on the side, and 1 set of doors on the front, then it should work. It will make it somewhat different from the instructions though, so I would recommend hiring an installer, or contacting the manufacturer before doing so.

Q: Is it livable for human? Can this be used as kitchen?

A: This product is not insulated and therefore cannot be lived in for most areas. It does not have a way to run electricity to it out of the box. It is perfect for storing things and sometimes people will put livestock or other animals in it, but very rarely do people use it to live in.

The instructions show just how to build it and what materials are needed. The other recommendation is a concrete slab. The concrete slab is more pricey to erect. It is very important to make sure it is flat and drains well. If it isn't flat you may run into issues with your doors closing properly. Feel free to contact us with any other questions. Theoretically you could just place it on a level surface, but eroding ground, inability to drain, and problems with the doors might cause problems.

Q: By code I cannot put a slab down to put the 8' x 20' shed on. Can I build it on a pressure treated wood framed and plywood deck?

A: This shed must be built on a flat level foundation of wood or concrete (not included). Flooring must be anchored to the foundation. Wood will work just fine.

Q: I have never seen the shed before. Is it a new model? When did it come out?

A: This shed is brand-new and was introduced to the market in the fall of 2015. Increasing demand for larger storage sheds was the idea behind this. Most storage sheds that are 8 feet wide are closer to 10 feet deep and this one is twice as long as 20 feet deep.
