Lifetime 11x11 Garage Shed

Never worry about not having enough space to get your ATV or other motorized vehicles into a storage shed again with Lifetimes 6417 Carriage Door shed. The doors on this unit extend almost the entire 11 ft. width of the building without compromising stability. The doors, roof, and walls are all steel reinforced providing plenty of stability to the unit. The walls, roof, doors, and flooring are made from High-Density Polyethylene Plastic (HDPE), which has the attractive look of wood grain textured finish but includes the long life of plastics.

HDPE holds up to stress better than traditional vinyl material. This unit comes with two large bubble skylights to provide plenty of natural light into the building. The materials used for the panels are UV-protected and the steel in powder coated to resist corrosion. These outdoor storage buildings never need painting and to clean them up, simply spray the unit down with a hose. This unit is also expandable up to 21 ft. under warranty. The shed color may look different in some photos based on the camera and lighting. The shed walls are desert tan/beige. The shed roof and doors are the same color which is dark brown with a hint of gray. Please feel free to scroll through the thumbnail photos and videos for a better feel.

Doors have a high internal spring latch mechanism and exterior padlock loop with interior dead bolts. They also have full-length welded steel hinges.
2 latch and lock polycarbonate windows measuring 13.5 in. wide x 24.5 in. high and swing about halfway open for ventilation.
The interior features two 30 in. wide x 14 inch deep shelves, two 16 in. peg strips with metal tool hooks.
Also features 2 large skylights, 2 screened vents to let air in and keep pests out.
This Lifetime shed ships in 5 boxes with a total weight of 904 lbs.
Delivery for this storage shed is a curbside delivery, which means the customer must be present to sign for the package and help the driver unload the product. For residential deliveries, the freight company will call ahead of delivery to schedule an appointment.

Great Shed, Lots Of Work

I bought this shed to house my lawn tractor and various lawn tools. The size is perfect and the triple door arrangement allows me to ride my tractor into the shed with room to spare. The shed arrived in 9 rather heavy cardboard boxes strapped to a pallet. Assembly is a monumental project, requiring three partial days of me and my two sons. The plastic parts are poorly labeled and the hardware are contained in dozens of little bags distributed randomly throughout the boxes. I highly recommend you unpack all boxes and place the various parts in piles that look similar. You'll figure them out as you proceed. I mounted my shed on a pressure treated 2 X 4 frame with a 3/4" plywood sub-floor. Be careful when reading the manual regarding plywood sizes because it details two sizes and only one is correct !! The manual must be studied at great length before beginning. Pay particular attention to every drawing, because when the written instructions don't make much sense, the tiny drawings will probably resolve your questions. Some things were learned by accident, like the three different doors are not obvious, and you can't place the side windows anywhere you'd like. Pay VERY close attention to the drawings or you'll be taking things apart and reassembling them again. After three days in the sweltering heat of Central PA, we finally got the entire shed assembled. On day #4 we received 2 3/4" of rain and horrible winds, in slightly more than an hour and much to my surprise, the inside of the shed was perfectly dry. Although the instruction manual is of poor quality, the shed itself is a winner. I'm certain my yard implements will be out of the weather for many years to come. Good Luck to all who purchase this product, and have patience with the manual. When in doubt, take the manual indoors and study it for awhile until your convinced you understand the next step

I built this shed with a 5 foot extension kit to use for parking my Harley motorcycles out of the weather. There are three in there right now, two Sportster bikes and one Road Glide. I have tons of room around all three bikes to easily clean and maintain them. The included shelf kits are pretty nice; I put all my riding gear, tools, and cleaning and detailing supplies on them. They are strong and sturdy, and help me stay organized, and the ability to add more shelves as I need is awesome. This is the first shed/building I have ever built, and while I am competent, the clear concise instructions were a huge confidence boost. The only thing that bothered me was all the hardware! Tons of screws and such! I suggest the manufacturer bag all the hardware by size and type to help the consumer stave off confusion. I opened all the bags at once and sorted my stuff into SOLO cups and then wrote the part numbers on the cups. This may have slowed me up a bit but it was a huge help in the long run. Very nice product overall

Pros: 'Nice looking', 'Easy directions', 'Spacious' Cons: 'Questionable packaging', 'Couple tough assemblies' Best Uses: 'Small product storage', 'Athletic field storage', 'Lawnmower storage' Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. I bought this product for our high school baseball team to store our riding mower and screens/netting inside for the winter as well as rakes, shovels, etc. . . Plenty of room for our 52' mower as well as the other materials. Very attractive shed when assembled. I was able to assemble about 65% of it by myself including the roof. You'll need help with standing up the walls while you assemble them together. Also will need help building and installing the trusses as well as installation of doors and the small roof caps. Otherwise I was able to do it a lot of it myself. It is definitely a long process, especially by yourself, but if you have 1 or 2 people helping you, it could be done in a long day or over a weekend. Directions were very clear and pictures helped tremendously. Take a little time to read them first and follow the order of directions. [. . . ] The only part of the assembly I had a real hard time with was the long and short glider tracks for the 3 doors. They were very tough to get together. Overall, I am very pleased with this product. I've assembled smaller items that were a lot tougher than this. I was really worried about how it would look with the rest of our facility but it really blends right in and I've received compliments from some of our players, parents and school officials about the look

The shed is very nice. The instructions are terrible. It took my wife and I 3 days to put this together. The most help in guiding us was the app "Bilt." That being said happy with the product

Very good, sturdy shed. Biggest issue is that the flooring shrunk and I have to fill the gaps with caulking. Doors are hard to adjust, but manageable.

Good shed, bad instructions

I was at first impressed that the entire shed was able to fit in its packaging, Lifetime had this part pretty well thought out. I was not impressed with the instructions. I opened each box (5 total) separately and attempted to inventory them individually according to the instructions. The pieces in the boxes did not match what was in the instructions and also the boxes were poorly labeled as to which box was which. Following the instructions bill of materials I was short numerous pieces, but following the assembly instructions, I had everything needed. My wife and I were able to sub-assemble everything we could the first afternoon and completed the major assembly the next afternoon. The directions were very poorly written. There were numerous quantity mismatches and many of the drawings left a lot to be desired. I found that by trying a few different assembly configurations on the doors, I was able to get them to fit acceptably. I mostly followed the instructions but had to improvise on some occasions. There were also a few instances where the hardware that was called out was not correct, I had the correct hardware but they didn't get it correct in the assembly instructions. I also had to drill some missing holes in the door frame (I did check and recheck to ensure I had the correct pieces and they were oriented correctly and I wasn't going to send this back for three holes and have it take another possibly two plus weeks). At first I wasn't too sure what to think because the panels seemed pretty flimsy and I wasn't sure the screws would hold up very well just screwed into the plastic. When it was all put together the overall structure reinforced itself and appears fairly robust, at least as robust as a plastic shed gets. Over all my wife and I do like the shed. It is roomy and has good head height and a decent roof pitch. We also like the trifold doors so we can access the entire shed. The worst thing about the entire process was trying to follow the poorly written instructions. (Updated on 10/8/2014. )

Building looks nice; Customer Service was excellent for both Lifetime and Competitive edge Products. ; However: Not enough adjustment to doors, had to [modify] right side of building. ; Gable ends need some sort of framing , screws into plastic not enough strength. ; Instructions are challenging; All said, not recommending product for price offered. . .

Delivery Details: This product ships directly from Lifetime Products in Clearfield, UT. Delivery of this product is via a curbside delivery through an LTL carrier (too big for UPS and FedEx). The customer must be present to sign for the order. The freight carrier is instructed to contact you prior to delivery to set up a delivery appointment. The carrier will unload the product by means of a lift gate. In some cases items may be too large to fit on the lift gate and may require assistance from the customer helping unload box-by-box (takes only a few minutes).

Q: If I buy the 11x11 shed and choose to expand it to 11x16, which side does the extension go on? Will the window side be pushed out more or will the door side get deeper?

A: It can go on either side. All the panels on the shed are 2.5' in size. These extensions are simply more 2.5' panels. The depth gets deeper. It doesn't change the width of the shed (the side with the doors).

Q: What is the warranty? I keep seeing that certain things will void the warranty but no where can I find it. Also, Is it the same for all the sheds?

A: This shed comes with a 10 year factory warranty. The warranty varies by sheds, but all of them have an expandable limit for voiding the warranty. Usually about 20’ or so. This is because the farther apart the walls become, then the more spread out the corner strength becomes.

Q: can I used as kitchen in backyard?

A: Yes and No. Many people use these as wood and utility shops. It could work as a kitchen as long as you realize the limitations which are that it is not insulated like a wooden building and modifying it to run electricity and similar fixtures voids the warranty. Q: How does this anchor to the ground?

A: This can be anchored to the ground if you put it on a concrete slab. The interior is designed to use concrete anchors to anchor it to your existing slab. If you are putting it on a wooden base you can anchor it to that base as well. Most people do not anchor this, however. Anchoring it for many people does kind of depend on how much you store inside and what the weight of the items are.
