We have enjoyed this kayak! Not too heavy that an adult and an 11 year old can't take down to the lake. Nice to have a holder to put a water bottle. Also, great to have a spot to put the paddle when not in use. The kayak didn't tip when one person was in the seat and another person climbed up and onto the back. Love the option of being able to get on and off in the water easily. The kayak is easy to paddle and steer. Only advice that I have is to tighten the shock cords before use. Some came undone, but was easily fixed by just tightening. Nice to have the shock cords or the storage compartment for us to store extra clothing when needing to take off layers. I have had this boat for a couple of years. It is easy to get off and on because it is so stable. It paddles easily and tracks well. It has really been handy in the flood this week. I have hauled sand bags. I used it to paddle a neighbors dock back home after the dock had floated away in the flood. This kayak is very durable, maneuverable, and has decent back support for a few hours at a time on the water. This is just one of many lifetime products that I own and I love them all!!! I have had this kayak for over a year and use it mainly for fishing, catching hundreds off it by now. I added a rod holder to it and wish I was on the water every day. It is very stable, I have never fallen off it, but the few times I have jumped off, it is very easy to climb back on. This was one reason I wanted a sit on top, in case I ever went in the water by accident I wanted to know I could enter the kayak again. I have paddled in lakes with ice chunks still floating on it and felt secure. I feel like I can troll all day, it is easy to paddle at trolling speed, tracks well, and cuts through the waves quite well if the wind picks up. It is also very durable as I paddle through flooded trees and I am never worried about putting a hole in it. I have had friends and family try it and they are always surprised how stable and easy to paddle it is, especially if they have never been in a kayak before. This is the boat I recommend to people who ask my opinion. If there is any downside I would say the seat feels a little hard after 3 or 4 hours. Also when I have used it in a river it does not feel as stable and the water drains slowly through the scupper holes if it takes on a large wave, adding to the feeling of instability. These kayaks are really fun. We take them to the lake, the river, the flooded wetlands (see picture) and beyond. They are easy to transport with handles on the front and back. Heads up, don't drag it, it will wear down and develop a hole. lots of available accessories for this one and the backrest works great. The waves at Bear Lake didn't stand a chance! Great stability and fairly straight tracking. Highly recommend getting the carry strap if you are carting it around by yourself (like me). I bought this kayak last May. It was a rash purchase by just basing on the price and its features. Ive used it many times in the lake, and I cant tell the difference paddling this yak compared to other 10 footer sit-on tops. This kayak is very stable that I can easily stand on it, not very fast, but what can we expect in a non-touring type boat. I am amazed how it tracks well with less fishtailing. It is reasonably priced and outfitted with bungees, hatch, backrest, handles, paddle holder and etc . Since I have the earlier version of the Tamarack 120, the side handle came off the rivets. I bought 2 of these kayaks. I haven't had a chance to take them out, yet. One of the kayaks was damaged on the underside upon delivery. We were hoping to go out tomorrow, but that will have to wait.
