A: That's a very good question. This particular listing is just for the backboard and rim combo. You purchased the brackets separately. There's several different options to choose from but most customers go with the model 316SP. If you search that up on our website, you'll see that it mounts to a 3.5 inch round pole, 4 in.² pole, a wall, or a roof. It will show you the details of the actual bracket.

A: Great question. Unfortunately, we don't have the dimensions of those two uprights, but I can tell you that the three Spalding brackets 8839, 316, and 8406 are all compatible with the 791564.

A: It's not likely to be compatible. You may need to strip the pole of all parts and hardware and use the 316 brackets that are adjustable and mount this backboard to a 3.5" round or 4" square pole.

It was a Spalding, Hydra Rib system and I need to determine if this backboard will fit on the existing arms. the arms have four attachment points that are 18" apart horizontally at the top and 8" apart vertically from top to bottom. A: This is just the backboard, In order to mount it to a pole you will need one of these brackets: 316, 8406SR, 8839S, 920312, or 310 (not compatible with any other bracket models). I would recommend the 316 model, as this is adjustable, and will work with both a 3.5" or a 4" pole.

A: It does not come with the wall mounting brackets and hardware. Well, it does come with hardware to attach the rim to the backboard. The reason it does not come with mounting brackets and the hardware to attach it to a wall for example is because many customers purchase this to replace an existing backboard and rim combo and they are not starting from scratch. Therefore, there is no need to include all the extra product which would be more expensive in the end. Please look at the large chart on this listing that shows which backboard and rim combo's work with what brackets. If you have any questions please let us know.

Q: I bought backboard and rim (model #79564). I want to mount on side of garage. I need a mounting bracket kit (nonadjustable). Could you send me a list of compatible brackets? Thank you

Q: I want to mount a backboard and goal above a 10 foot tall barn door. It's a Morton Building. Backboard 79564 is interesting. What bracket do you recommend given all attachment to the barn must be above the 10 foot rim? I'd prefer a bracket system that allows for setting the rime at lower heights for younger kids. A: I would recommend model number 316. It's a very good solid bracket. We have a link to the instructions if you search for it on our website in the search box. Simply search for 316 and it will pull it up for you. They are compatible with this backboard.

A: I don't know the dimensions on the back of the backboard, but the manufacturer does explain that it is compatible with their bracket models 316, 8406, 8839, 920312, and 310.

Q: I'm planning on mounting this to a concrete wall. Does this include all the necessary hardware to make it work?

A: Mounting it to a wall requires brackets. Most people purchase the brackets model 316. This is only a backboard and rim, and includes the hardware to attach the backboard to the rim. However, if you are mounting into a wall you will need to purchase a mounting bracket separately. The reason they are not always included is because many customers are ordering this as a replacement and already have the brackets. The most popular set of brackets is model number 316. If you are mounting this to a concrete wall it should work just fine. This comes with all the necessary hardware except the actual hardware to mount it to your specific surface. The brackets mount to many different surfaces so they don't include the hardware since it differs depending on how you are mounting it. You can purchase this hardware for several dollars from your local hardware store. In your case it sounds like you would need concrete anchors. They will tell you for sure. In any case, you would need brackets.

Solid hoop at a good price

Good Value
Very good hoop for the money. Was a little concerned after reading reviews about the condition of the board following shipment, but mine came intact and without a scratch. Directions were good, not great and it took me longer than anticipated to assemble, but the finished product is great and my son is out there shooting everyday for hours. Highly recommend this product if you're looking in the $200-400 range.
