Spalding In-Ground Pole Sleeve

Are you moving and you want to take your basketball hoop with you? Or are have you moved and need a new sleeve to install your pole? This is the perfect option assuming your pole is a Spalding brand and 3.5" in diameter. It minimizes the headaches of installation. Rather than installing your pole directly into concrete simply install the sleeve into concrete and you've got a non-permanent basketball goal that can be removed. Many people purchase this as a sort-of insurance should someone damage the pole with a vehicle. Shipping is fast and free. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Please note that this does not convert a portable system into an in-ground system. The poles on portable systems will be too short to get the rim to a 10-foot height if they are installed in the ground with this sleeve. This sleeve is meant for Spalding brand, 3.5-inch diamater, round poles for in-ground basketball systems.

I was a little leery because it was plastic but was willing to risk it for the price. The sleeve worked perfectly. The ridges on the concrete side of the sleeve ensure it is secure within the concrete.

A: Good question! The ground sleeve is designed for an already inground system. If you were to remove your base and slide your pole down into this ground sleeve your pole would be too short by about 18". To convert it to ingroud you want to reach out to Lifetime directly by calling them at 800-225-3865.

Q: Will the compression nut fit an existing Huffy 3.5 sleeve ?

A: This will fit any Spalding 3.5" round pole, I'm not sure what you mean by compression nut, but I don't think this sleeve would fit around another sleeve. I would recommend calling 1-800-558-5234 to double check.

Q: Is the 3.5" measurement across the width of the pole? I'm getting a measurement of 10" around the pole. Does this sound correct? I'm not sure if the pole will fit in the sleeve/holder. Thanks.

A: Yes, it is referencing diameter as opposed to circumference, so across the width.

Q: Can I use this with the lifetime brand? Or, does it only work with Spalding?

A: This will not work with any other brand other than Spalding and even within Spalding it must be a 3 1/2 inch round diameter pole designed for inground installation (not portable).
