I love this tent! It was easy to put up, it is super sturdy, and makes my truck suddenly feel like a glamping vehicle. As long as you have a good mattress or something, this is as low key and comfortable as you could hope for. It holds our rain and wind. In the end it feels like you put a covered wagon on the back of your truck. And you can take it down so quickly! The folks at Competitive Edge took good care of me and made sure everything was just how I would like! I would recommend this to anyone!

Great!

Takes longer to set up than a roof top tent (obviously), but really doesn’t take long at all with a few practice runs and is 1/10th the cost of a good name brand roof tent. I have a tri fold hard tonneau cover and with larger c-clamps it works perfect. I can put the cover up and have the tent on over it, you just can’t use the window from the tent to your truck. Overall used it probably 4 times now and super satisfied, great product for a great price and excellent customer service.

Perfect !

I purchased this tent (7211) for my 2015 Tacoma double cab long bed. I received the product in excellent condition with all items included and zero shipping damage. Having spent quite a bit of time reviewing customer comments and set up videos I had pre-ordered the appropriate Tacoma-specific bed rail clamps. The clamps provided with the tent do not work with the Tacoma bed rail system, it is a universal type tent and it so be prepared. I think I spent $25 on Amazon for the clamps which made the tent rails a simple install. It took me approximately 45 minutes to install the tent for the first time working by myself. Most of the time was spent adjusting the tent rail clamping position on the bed sides to get the proper position (approx 6-7" from the rear of the bed rail) and adjusting the side straps to get the tent centered, square and taut. I am sure subsequent installs will go up much quicker, guessing 20 minutes working solo. When the install was complete I was impressed by how well the tent fit my truck, it looks like it was made for it. Bottom line is that I am really happy with this truck tent. The fit, finish and overall quality are superb. It is a great value in my opinion. Again, this review is for the 7211 tent on a 6 ft Tacoma bed with Tacoma-specific clamps, Perfect!

Q: Aren't there two tents that that fit the two types of full size trucks? Can you explain how I figure that out?

A: The full size truck tents are made for trucks between 61-65 inches wide. The 6ft full-size (7206) is for truck beds measuring 5.5-6.8 ft long with the tailgate up/closed. The 8ft full-size (7218) is for truck beds measuring 8 ft long with the tailgate up/closed.

Q: I have a 2019 Ford Ranger FX4 CrewCab and a Tonneau Cover Lo Pro setup but the rail is clear. There is just an inside bracket where the cover velcro's on. Will this fit?

Q: Does the 2022 version of this truck tent come with the new side bar "pipe opening" for the ridge poles to set in. Or is this still the pin insert into the ridge poles?

A: Yes, we only use the newest version which includes the new rail receiver fitting - not the older pins. They also have the newer tailgate fittings that sit on top of the gate and strap on instead fitting under the tailgate itself. Feel free to contact us with any other questions.

Q: How long approximately is the set up and breakdown of tent? Can you drive with this on?

A: It always takes longer the first time, but once you are used to it it can be done in about 10-20 minutes. It is not recommended to drive with it on, as it acts like a parachute. If you don't go more than 5 mph and not very far you should be fine.

Q: What is the warranty on this item?

A: No, it is not something you would want to drive with unless you are driving very slowly around 5 to 10 mph. Otherwise it could damage the tent. You can drive a little bit faster if you lay down the shell of the tent-even while it is attached so that you can pop it back up relatively quickly once you've changed your spot.
