What You Need to Know Before Ordering a Lifetime Playset
We’ve been helping people find the right Lifetime play set for many years now, talking to a wide variety of families in the process. Some callers have toddlers and infants, others have older kids in their early tweens, and everyone hopes to keep their children engaged outdoors, exercising both mind and body. Over time, we’ve seen countless situations and questions, and we always work closely with each customer to figure out what works best for their specific needs.
When we get a call about choosing a play set, the questions often include: “Will this fit my kids’ age group?” and “Will it last long enough for them to keep enjoying it?” We also talk about backyard size—sometimes the yard is tiny, and we need a smaller playground that doesn’t use up all the space. Then there are those looking for something closer to commercial-grade, like churches, towns, or schools. While Lifetime playsets are designed for residential use, we’ve had plenty of these organizations buy them anyway. They just need to do their own research to confirm it meets any local codes.
One reason people gravitate toward Lifetime playgrounds is their durability. They’re built with powder-coated steel that helps resist rust, and the plastic components are made of high-density polyethylene, which holds up well in hot or cold climates. All metal can corrode eventually, and all plastic breaks down over time, but Lifetime does a great job of extending a playset’s lifespan. That’s why you’ll find them in some of the driest parts of the country, as well as in places that see a lot of rain or snow.
We also like to walk people through the safety dimensions of each playground. Every set has a listed footprint, but we generally suggest adding about six feet of clear space on all sides. This helps ensure kids can swing, slide, or jump off without hitting a fence, wall, or any other obstacle. Sometimes there’s flexibility if the area beyond that six-foot boundary is just open field. But if there’s a brick wall right there, you may need to choose a smaller set—or realize it’s not going to be safe enough for your yard.
Finally, delivery comes up a lot. Lifetime playsets are shipped via LTL (semi-truck) and typically arrive curbside at residential addresses. You’ll need to schedule a convenient time or make sure someone’s home to move the boxes onto your property. These playgrounds arrive in a single crate with multiple boxes, and usually one or two people can handle them just fine. It’s simply a matter of planning so that once your playset arrives, you’re ready to set it up and let the fun begin!
Whether you’re juggling toddlers and tweens, looking to optimize a tight backyard space, or ensuring a safe setup for your community group, we’re here to guide you every step of the way. Our long-standing experience and hands-on knowledge with Lifetime playsets means we don’t just sell you a box—we help you choose the perfect fit, arrange smooth delivery, and set you up for years of outdoor fun.
